Resource RFB®E Series four Gang Floor Box is a versatile activation solution that provides power and/or communication services to open space areas or directly to the workstation. For use in above grade concrete floors, it is fully adjustable with a tunnel compartment. Supplied with two (2) duplex mounting plates. Other device plates sold separately. RFB®E Series Floor Boxes are now available with the new Evolution™ Activation Covers. This new cover series incorporates TopGuard protection to prevent water, dirt, and debris from entering the power and communication devices. The Evolution™ Activation Covers are UL Listed to U.S. and Canadian safety standards for tile, terrazzo, carpet, and wood floors. The RFB®E Series has many unique applications, some of which include schools, financial institutions, commercial office buildings, and residences.

- Accepts Evolution Series Poke-Thru Covers: floor boxes accept 6CTC, 6CT and 6CFFTC Series Covers.
- Fits within a deep concrete pour: RFB4E floor boxes fit within 4 1/16'' deep concrete pour and RFB6E fits within a 4'' deep concrete pour.
- Recessed devices: RFB4E floor boxes have four to six compartments that accept power, communications, or audio/video applications.
- 2'' trade size KOs: RFB4E floor boxes have 2'' trade size knockouts.
- On-Grade and above-grade floor box applications.

- Accepts 2'' trade size conduit hub (2HUB): RFB4E floor boxes allow a 2'' trade size conduit to attach to the side of box while minimizing concrete pours.
- Accepts 6'' Evolution Series Furniture Feed Covers: The RFB4E floor box accepts 6'' Evolution Series Furniture Feed covers, providing more flexibility and aesthetic options.

Is the temporary cover listed and labeled to meet OSHA requirements as a "Hole" cover during construction?
Hello and thank you for your inquiry. We do not have any test data to support a load rating for the temporary cover for our floor boxes or poke through devices. UL only requires the UL 514A cover load test to be applied to the actual finished covers.
The OSHA fall protection standard is found in 29 CFR §1926.500(b) and has the following definitions and requirements. The requirement highlighted below would be similar to the 300 lb. load required for the finished cover in UL 514A. As we have not tested the temporary cover, they would need to protect the opening using another approved method in 29 CFR §1926.500.
Hole means a gap or void 2 inches (5.1 cm) or more in its least dimension, in a floor, roof, or other walking/working surface.
(4) Holes. (i) Each employee on walking/working surfaces shall be protected from falling through holes (including skylights) more than 6 feet (1.8 m) above lower levels, by personal fall arrest systems, covers, or guardrail systems erected around such holes.
(ii) Each employee on a walking/working surface shall be protected from tripping in or stepping into or through holes (including skylights) by covers.
(iii) Each employee on a walking/working surface shall be protected from objects falling through holes (including skylights) by covers.
(i) Covers. Covers for holes in floors, roofs, and other walking/working surfaces shall meet the following requirements:
(1) Covers located in roadways and vehicular aisles shall be capable of supporting, without failure, at least twice the maximum axle load of the largest vehicle expected to cross over the cover.
(2) All other covers shall be capable of supporting, without failure, at least twice the weight of employees, equipment, and materials that may be imposed on the cover at any one time.
(3) All covers shall be secured when installed so as to prevent accidental displacement by the wind, equipment, or employees.
(4) All covers shall be color coded or they shall be marked with the word “HOLE” or “COVER” to provide warning of the hazard.
Note: This provision does not apply to cast iron manhole covers or steel grates used on streets or roadways.
