Harrisburg, PA, February 25, 2009 - On-Q/Legrand, the leader in home systems, announce the launch of a revamped training program focused on meeting the needs of installers in the home systems industry. Available online and in facilitator-led format, these classes deliver detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to install, configure, and troubleshoot On-Q products. Formerly focused on providing a general overview of the product category, On-Q's training program is now specifically targeted to installers and designed to increase knowledge retention through activities like hands-on product demonstrations.
On-Q/Legrand has a history of industry-leading training expertise and programs. The curriculum, now CEDIA-, BICSI-, and NBFAA-certified, build upon this rich history by giving the trainees the background and support they need to easily and successfully integrate On-Q products into homes.
"Our installers are the ones who are working with our products on a day-to-day basis, so we consistently strive to respond to their recommendations and needs when planning our training programs," said Terry Baker, director of training for On-Q. "Our newest training gives installers exactly the information they're looking for - from rough-in steps to troubleshooting tips pulled from Tech Support calls - in the format of their convenience, either online or facilitator-led."
The training curriculum, which is updated each time a new product is available, may be taken live via on-demand, online courses, allowing installers to register at their convenience. The online training is self-paced, and can be stopped or started intermittently to reiterate a point or to revisit entirely at a later date. Both the live and on-line classes are accredited.
Recognizing that installers are pressed for time, On-Q designed the training program to accelerate the learning process. In the facilitator-led classes, hands-on demos teach installers the unique features involved in configuring and operating the products, and help them retain the information longer than traditional training methods. The demos also offer troubleshooting tips to head off potential problems before they develop. By delivering this level of information in a controlled environment, On-Q believes that installers will be able to increase their speed and respond to problems more efficiently.
On-Q/Legrand offers installation training courses in all key product categories, including:
- Broadcast Intercom System
- Data Products
- Home Theater
- Multi-Room Audio
- Selective Call Intercom
- Structured Wiring
