Legrand Rounds Out Its Home System Offering With the Addition of RF Lighting Controls

Lighting control line offers options for new construction or retrofit, as well as energy-saving features

Harrisburg, PA, March 15, 2010 – The Home Systems Division of Legrand, North America, announced today the launch of RF Lighting Control, a new line of wired and wireless lighting control products that offer safety, security, convenience, and energy efficiency.  RF Lighting Control products enable automation and dimming for complete control of permanent lighting as well as lamps, ceiling fans, and small appliances.

“Legrand is taking a more active role in lighting control with the addition of RF Lighting Controls to the On-Q product line,” said Dave Hanchette, vice president of marketing for the Home Systems Division of Legrand, North America.  “This line will add a new dimension to our home systems offerings, and the retrofit capabilities and energy saving benefits truly resonate with today’s homeowners.”

The RF Lighting Control line includes controllers, dimmers, plug-in modules, repeaters, and remote controls and key fobs for convenient access.  The system incorporates and saves “scenes,” or pre-set lighting levels, that the homeowner can select to create the ambience of their choice.

The system is available in a clean design to complement other On-Q product lines, such as the Classic and Studio Collections.  Available colors include white, light almond, ivory, black, gloss black, and titanium.

Some of the capabilities of the RF Lighting Control line include the following:

Safety and Security

  • Control as many lights in the home as desired from anywhere in the home
  • Turn lights in the whole house on or off with one touch
  • Turn on entry lights to the home before entering
  • Alert neighbors of a problem with the panic feature
  • Make the home look lived in, even when you are not at home
  • Easily integrate lighting controls with alarm and fire systems

Convenience

  • Coordinate control of lamps, ceiling fans, and small appliances
  • Create scenes to fit your activities and lifestyle
  • Control the system from a chair or bedside with handheld remote controls

Energy Savings

  • Save electricity by providing only the amount of light needed
  • Reduce energy by using lights only where and when they are needed
  • Corroborate with Title 24 Energy savings to maximize lighting efficiency in the home

RF Lighting Control products are effortlessly installed by replacing an existing switch or dimmer.  The system uses standard wall box mounting with no control wires, training, or software required.  The lighting controls easily integrate with third-party products and scale well, handling up to 127 rooms and 1,023 devices.
