Legrand Announces New Outdoor Wireless Access Point
Weatherproof WAP Features Functionality of Best Indoor Options, Extending The Home Network To The Pool, Patio, And Beyond
INDIANAPOLIS, IN, September 4, 2012 – Legrand, the leader in home technologies and solutions, announces the release of a new Outdoor 802.11n Wireless Access Point (WAP). The Outdoor WAP joins an existing family of LAN, indoor wireless, MoCA and powerline solutions designed specifically to give custom installers a complete, versatile set of home networking tools that meet the current and future needs of the connected household.

The Outdoor 802.11n Wireless Access Point boasts all of the latest connectivity and security options that are expected from a high-quality WAP, including 64/128-bit WEP, WPA / WPA2, WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK and 802.1x authority to secure and protect a wireless LAN; MAC filtering and SSID broadcast control; static or dynamic IP addressing. It also features three modes of operation: Bridge, Gateway, and Wireless ISP Mode, and comes with a handy Setup Wizard to make configuration a snap.
To protect it from the elements, the Outdoor 802.11n WAP features a weatherproof IP-55 enclosure. Included in the package is a power over Cat 5 injector and AC power adapter (which much be installed indoors) to remote power the WAP, which can be conveniently installed indoors or outdoors. The WAP is designed to be easily pole-mounted (with two included mounting ties) or affixed to a flat surface for the utmost in installation flexibility.
