LEGRAND SHOWCASES ON-Q INTUITY 2.0 HOME AUTOMATION SYSTEM AT CEDIA 2016

Repeatability, Scalability, and Affordability Differentiate Platform in Production and Custom Homebuilding Markets

DALLAS, September 14, 2016 – Legrand, the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, highlights its Intuity 2.0 home automation system at CEDIA 2016. The platform, which has proven popular with production homebuilders since its launch last summer, provides the mainstream housing market with a cost-effective, modular, and repeatable solution for controlling entertainment, security, and comfort within homes.

The system is housed inside a structured wiring enclosure and works with other Legrand products, including its On-Q IP cameras, video door entry and intercom, RFLC lighting control, and multi-room digital audio system that will play music stored on home networks as well as online streaming services.

In addition, Intuity offers seamless integration of market-leading, third party components, including thermostats from Nest, Honeywell and Trane; digital door locks from Schlage, Kwikset and Yale; garage door openers from Linear; home security systems from Honeywell and GE/Interlogix; and Aeotec’s Z-Wave Range Extender.

“Since its launch, Intuity has built a very strong position in the production homebuilder market and continues to grow in demand,” said Fritz Werder, Legrand VP/general manager, On-Q and Nuvo product lines. “We’ve continuously made significant updates over the last year to add even more features and functionality, all of which is available free of charge to the user.“

Users can operate all aspects of the Intuity 2.0 system from any iOS or Android mobile device with the Intuity control app, as well as from any laptop or computer and the wall-mounted, iPad mini-driven Command Center. The Command Center also serves as an intercom station and a zone of digital audio. The same user interface across all devices provides users a consistent experience whether they are checking their live camera feed remotely on their cell phone or activating lighting and audio for a relaxing evening at home.

A Modular, Enclosure-Based System

Intuity 2.0 simplifies both installation and scalability with modular components that are housed inside a structured wiring enclosure as part of the home’s wiring infrastructure. Its brain is its HA7000 Automation Controller, which, in addition to providing basic Internet connectivity, directly supports Legrand subsystems.  All subsystem modules mount inside the enclosure and plug directly into the Central Control Module.

The platform also supports both Legrand and third party wireless subsystems, such as RFLC lighting control, thermostats, door locks and security, through a pair of wireless bridge modules that connect to the system enclosure via category cable for power.
