ON-Q LIGHTING CONTROL INTEGRATES PATENTED TECHNOLOGY TO OFFER NEW LEVEL OF FLEXIBILITY, EASE OF USE
Solution Underscores Company’s World Leadership Position in Electrical Devices and Switches
DALLAS, September 14, 2016 – Legrand, the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, unveils the radiant® RF (radio frequency) lighting control system, a multi-product platform that makes use of Legrand’s patented Tru-Universal technology to provide integrators with an easy to install and flexible lighting control system.
The system is comprised of an array of wall-mounted dimmers & switches, a scene controller and convenient plug-in modules for each lighting source. The dimmers, which employ Legrand’s patented Tru-Universal technology, are unique in that they can be used with all lighting and load types, including LEDs, incandescent, halogen and others. The plug-in modules enable easy system expansion for control of new light sources, such as nightstand lamps and small appliances.
The LC7001 lighting controller (the hub) enables users to turn lights off and on, immediately or on a schedule, from their smart phones, tablets or Apple Watches. The easy to use app offers simple convenience that homeowners will appreciate, including individual light naming and the ability to schedule individual lights or scenes by time of day, such as sunrise and sunset. Setting light levels in the home is as easy as scheduling the alarm clock on a smartphone.
The radiant RF lighting control system is compatible with the company’s Intuity home automation system, which provides a comprehensive solution for control of lighting, entertainment, security, climate, and other functions.
As a standalone lighting system, additional control via third-party home automation devices is made possible via the MRS232-G serial interface and with pre-built drivers for Crestron and Control4 systems.
“Our radiant lighting system is an installation friendly solution that offers a formidable family of products that can be controlled via an intuitive app to enable homeowners to light the hallway for their kids during the night and turn lights on automatically when they are on vacation, all while being good stewards of the environment,” said Desirée Webster, Sr. Marketing Communications Manager. “This powerful system underscores how Legrand is uniquely positioned to support the more sophisticated lighting needs of today’s homeowners.”
Saving installation time and expense, the system operates via existing electrical wiring and its high reliability eliminates flicker, early dropout and "pop-on" deficiency issues common in other lighting systems.
The system is designed for both new home construction and retrofit/remodel applications. As part of the radiant® collection of switches, outlets, dimmers and home automation controls by Legrand, this product delivers a clean and consistent look in a variety of colors and metallic finishes.
