Legrand Expands Popular Pass & Seymour USB Charger Receptacle Line

SYRACUSE, NY, December 5, 2012 – Legrand, a leading provider of electrical wiring devices and home systems, has announced that it has expanded its popular Pass & Seymour (P&S) USB Charger Receptacle line by adding an additional three new products.

These include a USB Charger with Tamper Resistant Receptacle and a USB Charger with Single Pole/3-Way Switch, which can be wired so that the switch controls either a light load or the USB outlets. Both feature 2.1 Amp USB “A” style ports that deliver 5V DC power. A Quad USB Charger is also available and features four class 2 low voltage ports and a total of 4.2 Amps of power. The USB outlets on all the products are for charging only - not data transfer.

“The USB device line is being expanded to meet customer needs in the fast-changing space of mobile charging,” said Thomas Roy, senior product line manager for Legrand/Pass & Seymour. “USB charging has become commonplace and our goal is to provide products to serve the USB charging applications.”

The new USB Charger receptacles are no larger than standard combination devices, are easy to install and can be used with standard tamper proof wall plates. The presence of back and side wire terminals add wiring flexibility.

All three new USB Charger Receptacles are available in six colors: Black, white, ivory, light almond, nickel and titanium. The new USB Chargers can charge any USB-style electronic device including the following products:

  • iPad
  • iPhone
  • iPod
  • Tablets
  • Mobile Phones
  • Smartphones
  • Nintendo 3DS
  • Sony PlayStation Vita
  • Bluetooth Headset
  • Digital Cameras
  • Kindle
  • GPS, and much more
