Quality and safe charging for the commercial and residential markets

SYRACUSE, NY, December 16, 2013—Legrand, a leading provider of electrical wiring devices and home systems, today announced the availability of its new Pass & Seymour® Quad USB Chargers.

The new chargers feature four 5-volt DC USB ports that work with a wide array of USB 2.0 and 3.0 compatible devices. The 125V Pass & Seymour® Quad USB Chargers have an overall 4.2A USB charging capability.

The new chargers are intended for the residential and commercial markets including airports, education and healthcare facilities. From a compliance perspective, the new chargers are cULus listed and comply with UL 1310 test requirements.

“USB powered mobile devices have become the everyday norm and require fast, reliable charging” said Thomas Roy Sr., product line manager, Legrand Electrical Wiring Systems Division. “The new Quad USB Charger is designed to replace any standard receptacle and allows end users to charge four mobile devices simultaneously including tablets without the clutter of USB adapter plugs.”

The Pass & Seymour Quad USB Charger is only 1.3 inches deep and fits easily into any standard electrical box. The side and back wire terminals accept #14 AWG or #12 AWG standard wire and make installation fast and easy. The decorator format of the new Quad USB Charger is compatible with all Pass & Seymour decorator style wall plates and also accepts standard wall plates.

The new Quad USB Chargers are available in a wide variety of colors including black, ivory, light almond, nickel and white.
