Legrand’s Pass & Seymour® and Wiremold® products named as award finalists by three industry trade publications

West Hartford, CT, June 14, 2016 — Legrand’s Pass & Seymour® and Wiremold® products were recently named as award finalists by three industry trade publications in their respective markets.

The Pass & Seymour Plug Load Timer Receptacle was the winner in the wiring device category and is now entered in the Electrical Construction & Maintenance’s (EC&M) voting for the overall Product of the Year. The Pass & Seymour Plug Load RF Receptacle and Signal Pack and the Evolution™ Series 10-inch Poke-Thru Device were also each named as finalists in the Electrical Distribution category of the Consulting Specifying Engineer magazine Product of the Year competition. Finally, The Pass & Seymour Plug Load RF Receptacle and Signal Pack was also selected as a 2016 Money-Saving Product winner from BUILDINGS Magazine.

“These awards signify the value that end-users see in our products,” said Kevin Kohl, commercial product manager for Legrand’s Pass & Seymour product line. “In fact, we recently added even more value when we completed successful tests that indicated our Plug Load RF Signal Pack can be used at a distance of 30 feet from inside our 10-inch Poke-Thru Device with the cover closed. This is just one example of an energy-efficient solution that Legrand can provide.”

As a category winner in the EC&M magazine competition, the new Plug Load Timer Receptacle will now compete for the overall Product of the Year award. All 39 product category winners will be included in an online readers’ poll on the EC&M magazine website. Voting will be open to all EC&M magazine subscribers and will determine the 2016 Product of the Year Platinum, Gold (first runner-up), and Silver (second runner-up) winners. The winners will be announced both online and in the August 2016 issue of EC&M magazine.

The new Plug Load Timer Receptacle meets new code requirements for reducing energy consumption in commercial buildings. The permanently molded power symbol on the face identifies it as a controlled receptacle in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1, NEC, and Title 24. Two individual programs can be set to automatically control plug loads, saving energy.

The Plug Load RF Receptacle provides a simple-to-use, wireless solution for plug load control and works in concert with the Pass & Seymour Plug Load RF Signal Pack to add code-compliant controlled receptacles. Building owners and facility managers can easily achieve plug load control by using this integrated solution from Legrand. Enhanced plug load management is attained when the RF Receptacle is installed into a branch wiring system and the low-voltage RF Signal Pack is integrated with an occupancy sensor and 24-VDC power pack. The Receptacle and Signal Pack are connected via a reliable wireless RF connection.

Legrand’s Evolution Series 10-inch Poke-Thru Device offers eight individual gangs of communication; audio, video, and power capacity; eliminates the need for junction boxes; and is designed with a highly durable, aesthetically pleasing cover assembly. Users can mix and match devices, ports, and receptacles to configure each of the eight gangs to suit their individual requirements. The Evolution 10-inch Poke-Thru installs easily, making it an ideal choice for both retrofit and new-construction applications. Heavy-duty, die-cast aluminum covers are built to withstand up to 700 pounds of pressure as well as heavy traffic encountered in open spaces.

Voting for the products in the Consulting Specifying Engineer Product of the Year contest ends June 30, 2016.
