Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dim lighting I am so happy with the soft top dimmer switch that I had got last week the dimmer is very easy to use. There was no need for a professional installation as the instructions were very clear it actually worked on the first try, Something I’m not that familiar with After using it I plan on going buying more for my downstairs game room and are outside party room. It’s certainly can set the mood for whatever occasion with a push of a button

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GORGEOUS These are beautiful and functional. I am doing a whole home remodel and I have put Legrand switches and dimmers in every room. They are so clean and stylish, and they bring a really nice polished touch to every space. Fan for life!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great product with poor QA I have been using LaGrand products on upscale renovations for awhile. Great product visually and mechanically. Have had to return switches to manufacturer or reseller three time over past five years. They should better test products prior to shipping. This is an overpriced high end product. The consumer has the right to expect perfection.

I have a soft tap dimmer set up in a 3 way with a whisper switch at another location in a 3 way. The lights do not come on at all. I've installed according to the manual, do I need another dimmer switch on the other end for this to work?

Asked by: Luke N
The Softap dimmer is designed to be used with any 3way switch(not dimmer) for a 3way application. I would suggest contacting adorne Technical Support to try and troubleshoot your installation issue. adorne products 1.800.223.4185 opt 3 Mon - Fri: 8am - 8pm EST (excluding holidays) Email Us -

Can the dimmer be paired with a wave switch for a three-way set up? Thank you.

Asked by: Nick
The Softap SP/3W dimmer can be used with any 3way switch but seeing the Wave switch is electronic, the following applies: When using True Universal Dimmer in a 3 way application, with an electronic switch (Soft Tap, Touch, or Wave), the HOT wire MUST be connected to the electronic switch, and the dimmer MUST be connected to the load. Reversing this wiring (HOT to Dimmer and LOAD to Switch ) will cause the switch to stop functioning. The switch requires 120 VAC to operate. When the voltage to the switch is lowered by using the dimmer, the electronics in the switch stop functioning. This only applies when using an electronic switch. A standard switch (Paddle, Push and Whisper, for example) is not effected.

Are the Adorne dimmers compatible with this LED Downlight?? file:///C:/Users/JHarrington/Downloads/RDL_4RND_9_CTS-97_Downlighting%20Dimmer%20Compatibility.pdf

Asked by: Johnh315
We have not tested our Softap universal dimmer with RDL-Topaz recessed downlights but with the dimmer's available adjustments(forward/reverse phase and high/low end trim) it should control them without issue. This is from RDL/4RND/9/CTS-97 spec sheet: Dimmable with leading-edge incandescent or LED style dimmers.

I purchased serveral ADTP703TUM4 to operate my living room receseed lights, I currently have 15 Watt LED retrofit recessed lights, the new switch turns the lights on but they do not dim or even turn off? what are the specification of lights I need?

Asked by: Paul
The ADTP703TUM4 dimmer requires a separate Neutral wire so the dimmer can set itself to the load it's controlling and you need to verify that your LED's are "dimmable". The dimmer has a 6 watt minimum load requirement.

can you use this dimmer with an led light with 0-10v dimmer wires

Asked by: scotty
This dimmer would not work for 0-10 volt. Instead you could use adtp4fbl3p. This model is only for 0-10 volt.

I purchased this dimmer to replace a switch that controls 9 existing recessed lights that use 11W BR40 LED replacement bulbs. We cannot get the switch to work the dimmer indicator lights just flash. Do I have the wrong dimmer?

Asked by: 500SLC
I had better luck with the paddle dimmer for CFL/LED, The Softap, which I used initially for LEDs and LED replacements that are linked did not work well.

Can I control a 3 speed ceiling fan (or 4 speed if you consider “off” a speed) with this switch?

Asked by: Big Boy
No You cannot control a fan with this dimmer. This dimmer is made strictly for lighting loads. If You want to control the speed of the fan You would need to use our Paddle Fan speed control Model: AAFN4S16A

Will this switch work with Just a hot and Neutral??

Asked by: Bls15131
Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Tru Universal Dimmer. This device requires a hot, neutral, and load wire to the light. If you only have two wires in the box, you probably have a hot and a load wire to the light, with no neutral. The device needs the neutral to calibrate itself to the lighting load. Without a neutral, the device will not function properly. Hope this helps!

What dimmers switches do I use to control 2 sconces on the sides of bathroom mirror. One switch will be in the bathroom and one switch will be in the bedroom? Thanks

Asked by: Daniel
Thank you for your inquiry regarding our adorne sofTap tru universal dimmer. If you are looking to use one dimmer and one switch, you can use this dimmer with say an ASTP1532W4. If you are looking to dim from both locations, you must go with the wifi ready devices, which would be an ADTP700RMTUW1 and a ADTPRRW1. If you have follow up questions, feel free to contact us at 800-223-4185 or via email at Hope this helps!

I am trying to replace a normal adorne paddle switch with this dimmer switch. However, it only has a hot and 1-pole wire attached, and attaching them to the dimmer switch doesn't seem to work. Do I need to attach a white wire as well?

Asked by: electrisean
Thank you for your inquiry regarding our sofTap Tru Universal dimmer. This device needs the neutral wire connection, so you will need to attach the white (neutral) wire. The dimmer requires the hot, neutral, and load wire to the light. You must snap the device into the grounded mounting frame as well for it to work properly. Hope this helps!

Can the sofTap™ Dimmer Switch, 700W Tru-Universal be used with Sylvania 73835 Bright White 4000K Ultra RT4 50W LED Recessed Downlight Replacements?

Asked by: RPatrick
Thank you for your question regarding adorne Softap Universal Dimmer. We have not tested this exact Sylvania LED with our dimmer but we have tested their similar models of recessed LED's and they worked fine so it should work without any issues. The dimmer usually responds well to them when it is put into Reverse phase(as explained in the instructions).

Can I put (2) 3way dimmer to control the same light, Or does only (1) 3way dimmer work with a 3way paddle switch?

Thank you for your question regarding Legrand Softap dimmer ADTP703TUW4. When using this dimmer in a 3way, it can only be use with a 3way switch. If you want to dim from both locations, you could use the Softap wi-fi ready master and remote dimmers(ADTP700RUTMW1 and ADTPRRW1).

Will the lscl453pwccv4, dimmer work with under cabinet, led , direct wire, light fixtures ,3 in a series, approximately 38 watts total?

Asked by: Jbear
The LSCL453PW dimmer is designed for 450W CFL/LED dimmable bulb and 700W Incandescent bulb only. If your under cabinet LED's have a low voltage transformer or driver, I would recommend using the universal dimmer to control them(RH703PTUW or RH703PTUTC):
