Rated 5 out of 5 by Hoosier Daddy from Alternative to Legrand electrical box option I see a review claiming you can only use LeGrand's electrical boxes. But I did find alternatives. You can use a standard metal electrical box that is identical to the one LeGrand includes in their options. I used a 3 in. x 2 in. x 2-1/2 in 1-Gang Steel Old Work Switch Box. The one I bought and all I found have holes that match the 4 holes in the enclosure. #4-40 pan head machine screws will self thread the holes, or you can use other screws with nuts. I went this way over the LeGrand option because it was cheaper and I wanted to use a better spec duplex outlet and face plate than LeGrand includes in their options. Note for faceplates: due to the depth of the enclosure, standard width faceplates are required. Beware that a few but not many face plates described as standard size are wider than the standard 2.75 inches needed for the enclosure. Using a metal box as Legrand does means you will need to attach a grounding wire between it and the electrical ground wire, as Legrand does. There is a #6-32 hole for the screw in the box.
