The Wild Feathers
Another gift from NPR's World Café, I submit The Wild Feathers for your listening pleasure this morning. While elements of the music undeniably resonate with a country, and even bluesy, feel, the attack of their songs is all rock, and the charismatic southern / Americana result is a whole lot of fun... and, enjoyably, a little rough around the edges. Between citing Led Zeppelin as an influence (which is the surest way to gain my instant respect) and earning a spot opening for Paul Simon on the song-writing legend's recent tour, The Wild Feathers had plenty of appeal before I even listened to their debut self-titled album. Thankfully, that album did not disappoint. Listen to its opening track below and let me know what you think!
