Mumford and Sons
When I first read that Mumford & Sons were releasing an album in 2015, I squealed – quite loudly – because I well and truly loved their previous albums, and their live shows, and the (potentially unrelated, but seemingly correlated) increase in beards that followed their rise. But, when the teaser of the first single, “Believe,” dropped last month, I sort of felt sucker punched by the band going electric -- Where was the banjo? And the fiddle, and the mandolin? And the just overall toe-tappin’ acoustic-y goodness I’d come to expect and crave from them?!
Now, however, with three songs out from the upcoming Wilder Mind (available May 4) – the latest of which, “Snake Eyes,” released just yesterday – I think I finally hear the Mumfordiness amidst the electric sound, and am happy to say the excitement for the new album is back and growing.
