Yann Morvan Article On “IoE” Helps Connect The Infrastructure Dots

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

The Data Communications Division of Legrand operates right at the center of the Internet of Things (IoT), helping clients navigate the evolution into a rapidly interconnected world. One of the ways we do that is by helping them understand the ways that data and power will “converge” over the same infrastructure.

As the structured cabling infrastructure evolves to support the installation and connection of IoT gateways, we will increasingly come to appreciate how Ethernet-based cabling will emerge as the primary method of networking this converged mesh of intelligence.

In an article that recently published in IoT Innovator, Legrand’s Yann Morvan explains how IoT is driving the “IoE” – the “Infrastructure of Ethernet.” Yann provides readers some excellent examples of the rapidly evolving requirements imposed onto the Ethernet-based infrastructure to support this IoT/IoE network.
