The new Plug Load Controllable Receptacle meets the requirements of Section 8.4.2 of the ASHRAE Energy Efficiency Standard 90.1, which states that “all controlled receptacles shall be permanently marked to visually differentiate them from uncontrolled receptacles and are to be uniformly distributed throughout the space.”
What sets the new Pass & Seymour® Plug Load Controllable Receptacle apart from some competing products in the market?

The face of the new receptacles are permanently marked with the universally recognized power symbol, which remains clearly visible after installation. These controlled receptacle markings are NEMA-approved and provide certainty to specifiers, contractors/installers and the electrical inspection community that our products meet the relevant codes and standards.

However, some competing products offer labels or stickers to be field applied to wall plates or receptacles. Labels will add confusion to the specification and sale process and will be cumbersome to apply in the field. On top of that, they are more likely to be scratched or peeled off after installation.

Is the new Pass & Seymour® Plug Load Controllable Receptacle compatible with other plug load control systems?
The new Pass & Seymour® Plug Load Controllable Receptacle is compatible with a wide array of plug load control systems that are currently available. It also works exceptionally well with WattStopper’s® Digital Lighting Management (DLM) system.
How many versions are there of the new Pass & Seymour® Plug Load Controllable Receptacle?
Two versions are available. A half-controlled version features a factory-broken split-circuit tab that allows half the receptacle to be controlled. The dual-controlled version has a trim ring that shows both receptacles are controlled. Both versions are available with 15A and 20A, 125V ratings. These are available in both standard duplex and decorator styles.
What facilities are best suited for the new Pass & Seymour® Plug Load Controllable Receptacle?
The receptacles are perfectly suited for commercial offices, education and hospitality markets. In addition, they can also be used in many business environments that want to conserve energy and decrease their utility bills. Each receptacle meets the requirements of UL498 and carries a Fed Spec listing.
What benefits does the new Pass & Seymour® Plug Load Controllable Receptacle provide once installed?

Once installed and used correctly it will contribute to sustainability by shutting off receptacles and turning them back on at preselected times. This provides a significant cost saving to building owners, managers and tenants.

It will also tell employees, guest users and contractors which receptacles have constant power availability and which may have power at predetermined times.
