Great product!
With everything becoming automated in my home lately, this was the next on my list to make my life easier! While I am no electrician, I have done many home improvements and have installed a few things here and there. This comes with a thorough installation guide and even with my novice experience, it was very easy to install.

Replacement required.
Unfortunately, this outlet could not connect and Legrand had to send a replacement. Two stars for sending the replacement out quickly.

Easy to install
Easy to install, easy to use, I truly enjoy being able to control the outlet and being able to turn things off from a tap on my phone. The white is a fresh bright white that matches my existing outlets perfectly. I can’t wait to convert every outlet in my house.

Cool Features
The Legrand Smart Outlet in white is wifi certified. This outlet works with good assistant and Alexa. I like that I can set the system up with any small appliances and lamps with this outlet. All I have to do is replace the existing outlet with a smart outlet then download the smart lights app either on the good play or the app store. I use the app to connect to the smart outlet. I find it convenient to use with my lamp because I forget to manually turn it off before I leave and this makes it so easy for me because I have the phone with me before I leave and I just have to turn the app on and turn off the light. It makes a lot of things easy to do. I even use this for the tv so I can easily turn it on and off if I can not find the remote control. I find the installation to be easy to follow. I just only had to remove the old outlet to use the legrand smart outlet.

Is this a GFCI outlet? I don't see it anywhere in the specs here, but some other websites are saying it is GFCI. Can you confirm?

would this work to control roof edge heat tape. It would be installed on exterior of building on a GFI controlled circuit.
As long as the outlet lives inside ( it's not outdoor rated ) and the heat tape isn't pulling more wattage than the outlet can handle, it should work fine.

Scheduling requires an accurate clock...is the clock restored after a power failure? Does it connect to the cloud for time or is there a battery backup?
The scheduling time or "scene" is pulled from the cloud account/mobile device that is connected to the receptacle.

Master electrician, I have customers that would like to be notified or alarmed, when a receptacle loses power i. e. a freezer receptacle. Can the app do this?
No, the app does not notify when a device loses power/connection. It currently just gives you the capability to control the power going to it.

The receptacle is not dimmable and is designed for ON/OFF control only.
