Questions & Answers

If black w/ white stripe and regular black are tied together, will this still work? In a case where the avaliable box in a room doesn't have the receptacle "home run", just the constant hot and switch leg,

Asked by: Dave
The black/white wire allows the device to monitor power use of unswitched receptacles (red is switched, black/white is unswitched, but both are metered). Connections to the LMPL should only be made as shown in the installation instructions (ie black/white is an output to receptacles, not an input from line). Receptacles can be ran directly from line feed hot/neutral without connecting to LMPL in the requested manner. This will not allow the LMPL to meter them however, as they would no longer be connected through it.

What os the purpose of wiring unswitched receptacle to the Black with white stripe?

Asked by: Jim
Hi Jim, The black with white stripe wire is the load wire for the non-switched receptacles. The red wire is the load for the switched receptacle.

Asked by: JM
Hi JM Yes, the loads can be assigned to DLM switches.
