Legrand donates $112,500 to the American Red Cross

WEST HARTFORD, CONN., January 19, 2017 – Legrand North America, the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, has made a $112,500 donation to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund. Headquartered in West Hartford, Connecticut, Legrand initially made a $50,000 pledge in the fall of 2016 and with a match of an additional $50,000 through an employee giving campaign. Legrand’s donation to Red Cross Disaster Relief was inspired by the relentless disasters the Red Cross had responded to in 2016, in particular the devastating flooding in Louisiana in August of last year. Legrand’s donation to Red Cross disaster relief will be used to help the Red Cross prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters.

“We are grateful for the continued support Legrand brings to Red Cross disaster relief,” said Mario Bruno, CEO, American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region. “Last year, the Red Cross provided more assistance to the hundreds of thousands of people impacted by these disasters all across the United States than in the past two years combined. Legrand’s on-going support helps to enable the Red Cross to provide immediate emergency assistance for those impacted by disasters.”

“The Red Cross is able to respond quickly and effectively in times of need, and we’re proud to help support its mission by contributing funds that provide assistance to our neighbors and fellow citizens,” said Legrand President & CEO John Selldorff. “Our customers, employees and the communities we serve are impacted every day by the preparedness and disaster response work of the American Red Cross. This donation is our investment into creating strong, safer communities.”
