Very Sleek and Functional Dimmer!
I've put this in my new house in place of many old rotary knobs that were installed probably a while ago. The dimmer works very well for most fixtures. We had incandescent type fixtures in most cases and it works very well with the LED replacement bulbs that we bought. However, we did update one fixture to a pure LED flushmount fixture and I noticed there was some flickering at mid-level dimming. I think we can work with it, but would be nice to have the full range of dimming as an option. I suspect it's just a low resistance issue as I only have one fixture on that dimmer. Just something to keep in mind if you are looking at this dimmer. But all in all, it's great to have the ease of use of a paddle switch with the dimming slider in one device.

Durable reliable
I got one of these switches to try out and I liked the way it worked so much that I switched all of my dimmer switches in my house to this same brand and style. The ones I had before hummed when dimmed down and these have not done that at all to me.

Misleading
Incompatible with low voltage LED bulbs. When converted to LEDs, no light fixture in my home pulls enough current to work with this dimmer. Adjusting the trim simply keeps the bulbs from dimming to the point of flicker (defeating the point of having a dimmer if the lights cannot be dimmed). I only discovered some fine print, ~"not for 0-10v" after extensive research. This information is nowhere on the box or packaging.
Frustratingly, I really like the fit, feel, and finish of this switch. I am considering returning to incandescent bulbs in the fixture just so I can keep this switch.

Awful dimming
This dimmer flickers dimmable 2700k LED recessed can lights retrofit modules , thats just ridiculous , any dimmer would dim a 40 watt or 4 10 watt led load minimum, but this awful product can’t even do that and it rated for LED but not 0 to 10 volt driver ?? All LED products have that rating now , poor design and engineering I will never use another Legrand product for any reason, I’ve been an electrician for 35 years

Dimmer
We've used them through out our house but this one was defective and I had to return it because the hot wire screw was stripped. I will repurchase because I think this was a one time thing and they are a beautiful update to our home

Questions & Answers
I have this switch installed in my bedroom. Can I disable the LED light? It shines too brightly and I tend to stare at it on sleepless nights., which is very annoying.
This dimmer does not have the ability to disable the locator LED.

Am I able to use these switches in scenario where there are two 3 way switches with a 4 way in between? Basically I have 3 switches to control a light circuit and would like to be able to use the same radiant collection switches throughout our home. Thank
You can only use one of the RHCL453PTC dimmers in a 3way or 4way application so it could replace one of your 3way switches.

Will this work with LY4RCS / 30K? LED mfg. specs indicate dimmable - TRIAC Dimmers 5% - 100%?
Not helpful. Incorrect info provided by Legrande Technical Support, as when connected, only dims to +\- 30. I provided make and model. Now I’m left with decision to go with Lutron or pay $50+ per dimmer. Welcome Legrade support here.

Will this dimmer switch work with Lithonia Lighting Ultra-Thin Wafer 4 in. White Integrated LED Dimmable Recessed Kit? If not which dimmer, same design would work?
The RH703PTUTC would be a better option for dimming recessed LED lights.

Is it possible to make the rocker switch control a light, and the dimmer switch control a separate ceiling fan? The light would not be part of the ceiling fan.
The switch you mentioned can only control one load at a time and is rated only for cfl or led bulbs. You would need our switch for the led bulb and a fan control device for the fan.

I have a Legrand RHCL453P which I'm using with some under cabinet LED ribbon lighting. I am experiencing some flickering and I need to know if there is some type of adjustment I can make to alleviate this problem.
Hello,
The RhCL453P is rated for dimmable CFL/LED bulbs which screw into conventional incandescent lamp sockets. The bulbs may not be compatible with the dimmer and this may cause the flickering.
Hope this helps,
Have a great day.

Connecting this to ceiling fan using a single pole installation. To dim & turn on/off the light on the ceiling fan I am using this model. To change fan speed & turn on/off the blades I am using RHDH163PTCCCV6. Do I need a neutral wire for the light?
The RHCL453PTC dimmer does not require a Neutral connection to the dimmer.

For a 3-way operation, does the common wire that is the power source have to be connected to the dimmer or can the common wire that is the switch leg be connected instead?
The RHCL453PTC dimmer can be installed on either side of a 3way circuit.

I have this dimmer installed on a circuit with (2) LED BR30 floodlights (65w equivalent). I have been unable to get the bulbs to dim beIow about 50%. I have adjusted the calibration and tried different bulb manufacturers. Any suggestions?
The dimmer should dim lower than 50% so I would suggest trying another dimmer(same model) or try the universal dimmer in the same line(RH703PTUTC).

I bought this dimmer on amazon and was advertised as a led compatible switch and when arrived packaging say only halo inc compatible. Will this work for led cans and under counter led lighting?
Thank you for your inquiry regarding our RHCL453P dimmer. This device is LED compatible so I am not sure why the packaging for your product says incandescent only. If this is the right part number, the product is compatible with LED screw in bulbs. If you are looking for a compatibility chart, please contact us at 800-223-4185 or via email at tech.support@legrand.us. Hope this helps!

When I shut switch off Im still get 40 volts feed thru switch. Is this normal
Thank you for your question regarding Legrand dimmer RHCL453P.
Yes, the leak through current is normal for all of our "illuminated when off" dimmers and switches.

I like these but there is one if the 3 I have. When the dimmer is all the way down, my 6 LEDs get really dim which is perfect for tv. I want 2 others that get that dim. My electrician said that one would likely be considered defective. I want 2 more!
The RHCL453PW dimmer has a calibration wheel adjustment that can help with the dimming range of the dimmer(see instruction below). The lowest dimming level will also depend on the quality/type/brand of your LED's.
Dimmer may require adjustment to the low end setting to reliably start and/or
remove flickering in bulbs. To adjust, DISCONNECT POWER FROM CIRCUIT, and
remove the Wallplate. Use a small insulated, flat tipped screwdriver to adjust the
trim pot wheel, which is accessible via the slot (marked “CALIBRATION”) provided
on the strap (Figure 3). Turn the wheel downwards to increase the minimum light
intensity setting and turn the wheel upwards to decrease light intensity. Next,
install the Wallplate, restore the power and test. Repeat above as necessary.

I used a bunch of these dimmers in a home to dim recessed can dimmable LED lights from Home Depot (Store SKU# 1002936204), and many of them slightly flicker at most light levels. Those trims are basically a screw in bulb. Is there a fix for this??
