Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with Panasonic WhisperCeiling DC I bought this for a bathroom fan. The timer function works great and remembers previous setting. It works with the low-wattage Panasonic fans that don't behave well with some timers. Maybe it's because of the relay in it that clicks on and off. The small white light is perfectly sized and brightness for helping find the switch in a dark room. I don't want a switch to be lit up like a night light, or have garish colors, or to cast light on the room. I want the room to be dark when the lights are off. These are perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features We installed this timer in our bathroom to the exhaust fan. Love the time feature on this, we go into the bathroom turn the exhaust fan on and we don’t have to worry about it running continuously. We use to forget and leave it on for hours. This solved are problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bathroom must have!! Our home was caught between steamy showers with no exhaust fan or an exhaust fan running for 24 hours straight. The 4-Button Digital Timer was a total solution and will now save our bathroom from moisture damage and our electric bill from wasteful usage. Easy to use, aesthetic for the design-conscious and a simple DIY project. This Timer is a great choice and automatic solution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does it's job, and looks good doing it. I bought these for my bathroom fans, and my bathroom heat lamps. They do a great job and they are set apart from a lot of the competition as is not a large selection for timers for 60 minutes. Very easy to use and setup. My only complant is that the wiring that is provided to tie into the existing wires seems to be of lower quality, but the fact that they provide it as well as stripping the wires for you is very convientent.

Questions & Answers

I need a minute timer switch that can work with a low power exhaust fan. The fan uses .25 amps, 30 watts. I've read some other switches will malfunction or not work on less than 3 amps - Is this switch compatible? fan model #FV-10NLF1E

Asked by: Arielle
The RT2 timer does not have a minimum load requirement, so it should work fine with this fan.

The lead wires for this switch are #16. My house uses #12 wires. Is this compatible? Or will the wires overheat, or have other problems, etc?

Asked by: Arielle
The timer can be used with #12AWG and #14AWG wire.

For my application, I'd like to use this device to open/close a set of signal contacts (that is, complete a continuity circuit, like an old-fashioned mechanical relay). There will be no current flowing through the contacts. Can the device do this?

Asked by: Florentinian
This device has a relay output so in theory would work to meet your needs. In practice though relays need a slight amount of switching current to help keep the contacts clean. If there is zero current being switched I might question performance/longevity in this application.

I read somewhere that this switch controls, lights, ceiling & exhaust fans. Is that true? I’m on my 3 switch by you! All I want/need is a switch that control my ceiling fan w/ a light! Dimmer & Fan switch didn’t work per legrand rep. Will this work?

Is the fan control independent of the light? In other words, I would like the light to go on or off manually and the fan to go off automatically. The switch I have now has four connectors plus the ground terminal.

Asked by: Dave
The RT2 timer is a single control so if you're controlling and light and fan, they will both turn on and off together.

The Specifications states: Number Of Poles: Single Pole/3-Way Yes the instructions clearly state "Only connect the RT2 to a Single Pole Circuit. The RT2 is not suitable for 3-way switching. So, which is it?

Asked by: why.old.bill
The Radiant RT2 timer is single pole only and we will correct the website description to reflect that.

I want to use this to turn on outside can lights. I want them all night for safety. Right now i turn them on at night and forget to turn them off in the morning  Whats the longest time setting they be set to? Thanks

Asked by: ROBYN
The RT2 timer has a maximum time delay of 1 hour. The RT100 or RT200 programmable timers would work better for your application. The RT100 is manual ON - auto OFF https://www.legrand.us/radiant/search.aspx?q=rt100i The RT200 is auto ON - auto OFF https://www.legrand.us/radiant/search.aspx?q=rt200i

I have a dbl wall box with timer and also SPST light switch. The old timer had red, white wires-RT2 also has black wire. Curr wiring fm wall-black to lightsw trml1, white to trml2 and over to timer "line" trml. Red to timer "load" trml. How to connect RT2?

Asked by: Fred
The correct wiring for the RT2 timer is: • Connect the green or non-insulated (copper) GROUND wire from the circuit to the GROUND terminal on the RT2. • Connect the power wire from the circuit (HOT) to the black wire on the RT2. • Connect the power wire to the lamp or fan (LOAD) to the red wire on the RT2. • Connect the NEUTRAL wires from the circuit to the white wire on the RT2. Bathroom fan says it won’t work with dimmers or switches with solid state timers, only manual countdown timers. Will this timer work? I can’t find any information on what kind of timer it is.

Asked by: Eileen
Good Morning, It should work just fine. Typically, solid state only refers to fan speed controls and not standard on/off timer switches. Hope this helps!

Can I use this switch if I only have 3 wires,  a hot, a neutral and a ground - no load wire to my fan/light?  If not do you have a timer switch that can be used?

Asked by: John
No, it won't work for you. Switches can be wired two separate ways: power to the switch or power to the light. You need the former for this to work. Responding to Legrand: gee, sure would be nice for there to be a warning on the box explaining this limitation! Even if not on the box, you could put it in the instructions too...

Will this be available in Graphite? Started to change switches/outlets to graphite but sad this isn't available. Any chance for a 30 minute max timer? 60 minutes is excessive for a bathroom fan. Changing over from Leviton.
