Questions & Answers
I would like to use the ccupancy sensors to track the sole-occupier movements throughout a 2-strorey maisonette. If this is possible, I would then like to control lighting, HVAC, audio and video based on the presence of the occupier.
The Wattstopper DLM system natively controls lighting and uses BACnet communication to integrate with a Building management system to control HVAC and AV. Please contact your local Wattstopper Rep to help you design a system that will work with your specific needs.

Can the occupancy sensors be daisy chained if the light fixtures are working off the same switch, but the light fixtures have there own individual occupancy sensor?
Yes, they can be daisy chained - the load binding is determined by programming, not by the cat5 wiring.

Does LMDC 100 motion sensor work through glass.?
Anil,
Ultrasonic sound waves do not penetrate solid objects well and the PIR sensor cannot "see" through glass because this signature cannot travel through it. Some of this depends on the type of glass used in the window like thinner glass, we have cases where the sensitivity is lowered and it works and some where the sensor needs to be relocated.

Does the sensor provide data as to how often the area is occupied? If not, do any of your products provide occupancy data?
Hi Eric,
This sensor does not have that feature. An advanced DLM system with BMS capabilities can provide more details regarding occupancy and power consumption.
Please reach out to our tech. support team if further assistance is required with this request.

Can the LMDC-100 occ sensor be wall mounted, stairwell application
If you mount a ceiling sensor to a wall, it will effect the way motion is detected and may not work properly.

hi i ran cat6 cable is that going to affect the installation, or it need to be cat5
Good morning
Any Cat5 or Cat6 cable will work with the DLM installation as long as the cable is a straight thru cable. Although you can use the TIA standard 568A, TIA standard 568B is what I recommend.

I have a LMDC-100 showing E06 & E07 on the lcd display. It seems to over ride the two switches in the room. What are these codes and is there a master rest to get rid of them?
These are DLM error codes. E06: No load assigned to sensor, E07: No communication possible(Comm line is being grounded). There is a Cat5 termination issue, and a some programming needed once the Cat5 issue is resolved.

Is the LMDC-100 designed to function in low-movement settings such as conference or meeting rooms where people are always seated? Does that affect the installation height? We want to avoid lights shutting off during meetings where there isn't movement.
The LMDC-100 is an occupancy sensor. It's main function is to trigger on the load when it detects motion and keep the load on as long as it detects motion. It also will to turn off the load when it doesn't detect a motion after the time delay expires. If someone feels that it may turn off the load because people are not moving it's recommend to set the time delay to 30 minutes which is the maximum. Outside of maximizing the time delay you can put the sensor into override mode which will not allow it to use the time delay, plus the two technologies like the PIR and Ultrasonic within the sensor will no longer function and the sensor will not respond to movement or lack of movement but you will have to use a switch to turn on and off the lights because the sensor is dormant.

What is max mounting height above finish floor for the sensor LMDC-100 – U ? We intend to install LMDC-100 – U sensor to a pendant. The bottom of the mounting box is 12'-4" AFF. Is this mounting height acceptable?
The maximum mounting height for an LMDC-100 is 10 feet. It is recommended that you use an LMPC-100-5 sensor for ceiling heights from 10-40ft.

We have 3 LMDC-100s daisy chained together and only the first one is operational. I don't see any documentation on this type of setup. Is this a valid configuration?
Yes, the DLM system is an open topography system and it is perfectly fine to wire in that configuration. Please call Technical Support @ 800-879-8585 if you require troubleshooting assistance.
