Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great product with poor QA I have been using LaGrand products on upscale renovations for awhile. Great product visually and mechanically. Have had to return switches to manufacturer or reseller three time over past five years. They should better test products prior to shipping. This is an overpriced high end product. The consumer has the right to expect perfection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whole house upgrade We had our master bath updated and used switches for our canned lights and ambience lighting. We used an on/off for the exhaust. The electricians were amazed. Everyone was amazed. We are currently working one room at a time. LeGrand will soon be in every room in the house! Switches and plugs. Easy installation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy peasy I was selected to install and try the softap dimmer switch for free through the try it program. I was worried that it would bw difficult to install but it was so easy. The packaging came with very direct instructions for people like me with little experience. Now i can easily dim my lights to just the right level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice swirch This is a nice dimmer switch. This wall plate and switch have a great modern look to it. The installation was fairly simple and all parts needed were included in the package. It's made very well and I will be replacing my other dimmer switches in my home with this kind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect dimmer switch I love this dimmer switch! I installed it myself in my dining room and I am so happy with it. From where we sit in the family room we can see the dining room chandelier and it can be distracting because its fairly bright. I had wanted to install a dimmer switch for a while but wanted a really nice looking one and this sofTap Dimmer Switch from adorne is perfect! It was easy to install after watching a youtube video and I got it done in about 10 minutes. Now we can easily dim the light and my wall looks great with the new switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, easy to use. I had my husband install the dimmer switch in our dining room and it is so easy to use. It has a nice feel to it and it works great. You can dim the lights to all different lighting levels to create a nice look in the room depending on the time of day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to control lighting I liked how it controls the lighting and there is no clicking noises. A soft tap will do the work. I can control the light from different locations and the lights do not flicker. Because of the 700w, the lighting color is uniformed. I am guilty of leaving lights on, but I am thankful for having this dimmer. The installation was not bad to understand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice I really like the ending results. The hubby wasn't so happy about the installation. It's a bit bulkier than he wanted to put in the wall. But he agrees, the ending results were worth it. It will be nice to be able to dim the lights on movie night. Installation itself was pretty easy.

Questions & Answers

I need to for this dimmer to work in a 3 way setting. Which adorne switch is compatible and does the 2nd switch need to run off the same neutral?

Asked by: Joe
This dimmer will work with any 3way switch. If you use one of the adorne electronic switches(Softap, Touch or Wave), the switch would need to be on the HOT side of your 3way and the dimmer would go on the LOAD side. The switch does not require a Neutral.

I just installed this sofTap dimmer switch and it turns on and off and dims as it should. It does, however, 'click' when I turn the switch on and off. What is causing this, please? Should I be concerned? Thank you.

Asked by: coomzee
The "click" is the opening and closing of the internal contacts, which is normal and you should not be concerned.

Installed this with WAC InvisiLED Pro2 24v (LED-TX24) tape light/ WAC 96 Watt Dimmable Power Supply (EN-24100-RBT2-T). Even after setting to low level trim, the lights flash when dimmed. Is there a minimum load for these dimmers? Other suggestions?

Asked by: Powers
The universal dimmer has a 6W minimum load required and for WAC lighting(ELV), the dimmer should be put into Reverse phase.(see User Adjustments section on attached instruction link) https://legrand.webdamdb.com/directdownload.php?ti=55646800&tok=GcNt2dYl9SpC4XAf0iSV9gRR

Im replacing a lutron 3way with a legrand ADTP703TUG4. The wall has 4 wires. (black, white, red and bare). The switch has sockets for hot, neutral, 3 way and pole? what goes where? the diagram doesnt help

Asked by: Skim
Hello, When installing this Legrand dimmer in a 3-way it has to be installed on the load side and the switch needs to be on the line side. We are not able to identify the wires in the wall just what wires need to be connected on the back of this dimmer. Ground wire goes to green, Neutral wire goes to white, Hot goes to black, 3-way and 1 pole need to be matched up between the dimmer and switch. Please contact us at 844-957-3783 if you have any other questions. Thank you,

I just completed a complete remodel of my Kitchen. I used all Adorne Legrand devices. I am controling my LED undercounter lighting with a soft tap universal dimmer. My Kicher undercounter lighting is buzzing. did not buzz with conv. dimmer

Asked by: Buddy
The Softap dimmer may need to be adjusted for the under cabinet lights you are controlling. If they are ELV(electronic low voltage), you need to put the dimmer into reverse phase. These steps are included with the dimmer instructions: SP/3Way true universal dimmer phase settings….FORWARD or REVERSE: You need to be in the minimum trim level adjustments to change the dimmer phase. To enter Min Level Trim: Hold Rocker button down for approximately 10s after minimum brightness reached. Bargraph LEDs will turn on to indicate cal mode activated. Releasing button within 5 seconds activates automated Min Level Trim feature as described in Initial Turn-on section below. Continuing to hold button for approximately 5 more seconds causes the +/- LEDs to flash, and initiates manual calibration. (basically hold for approx 15 secs until the +/- start flashing) Forward or Reverse Phase Selection Forward Phase is the default as shipped from factory. During manual Min Level Trim, holding On/Off button for approximately 10s toggles between Forward and Reverse Phase. The LED flash rate during calibration is approximately 1Hz for Reverse Phase, approximately 3Hz for Forward Phase. FORWARD phase – FAST blink REVERSE phase – SLOW blink

Does this dimmer REALLY work with standard 110 VAC 6W LED bulbs? I have several of your LED dimmers that will only reduce the brightness of the LED bulbs to about 75% of full brightness - not very much.

Asked by: davchr
The universal dimmer is designed to dim to approximately 3% of your light load but also depends on the low end restrictions of the LED bulb. Some only dim to 10%.

Hi - I'm using this dimmer (ADTP703TUW4) with a regular 3-way softap switch (no dimmer). Can these be used in either the master or remote locations? I can get mine to work at first but then the softtap switch stops working after 4-5 pushes.

Asked by: John
When using True Universal Dimmer in a 3 way application, with an electronic switch (Soft Tap, Touch, or Wave), the HOT wire MUST be connected to the electronic switch, and the dimmer MUST be connected to the load. Reversing this wiring (HOT to Dimmer and LOAD to Switch ) will cause the switch to stop functioning. The switch requires 120 VAC to operate. When the voltage to the switch is lowered by using the dimmer, the electronics in the switch stop functioning. This only applies when using an electronic switch. A standard switch (Paddle, Push and Whisper, for example) is not effected.

I have a 560 watt LED load, will this dimmer work with this load? I know a lot of dimmers I have looked at have a lower led threshold than incandescent and didn't know if the 700watt rating was across the board or incandescent only.

Asked by: Darron
The maximum wattage rating depends on what type of lights(LED's) you are controlling. Max. load rating: • Incandescent: 700W • MLV: 500VA • ELV: 700W • EFL: 5.5A • CFL and LED: 450W(screw in bulbs)

Can the dimmer be paired with a wave switch for a three-way set up? Thank you.

Asked by: Nick
The Softap SP/3W dimmer can be used with any 3way switch but seeing the Wave switch is electronic, the following applies: When using True Universal Dimmer in a 3 way application, with an electronic switch (Soft Tap, Touch, or Wave), the HOT wire MUST be connected to the electronic switch, and the dimmer MUST be connected to the load. Reversing this wiring (HOT to Dimmer and LOAD to Switch ) will cause the switch to stop functioning. The switch requires 120 VAC to operate. The ADTP703TUM4 dimmer requires a separate Neutral wire so the dimmer can set itself to the load it's controlling and you need to verify that your LED's are "dimmable". The dimmer has a 6 watt minimum load requirement.

Can one dim in three way situation from both sides

Asked by: Marsha
Thank you for your question reagrding the adorne Softap dimmer(Model # ADTP703TUM4). With this dimmer in a 3way, you can only dim from one location and you would have to have a standard 3way switch on the other end of the circuit. To dim from both locations, you could use the Softap Master dimmer(ADTP700RMTUM1) in one location and the remote dimmer(ADTPRRM1) in the other.
