Outside Front Door and Garage Lights; Towel Warmer
I have been looking into a variety of issues to not have to turn on the Front Door Lights and Garage Lights. I looked into timer replacements which are cumbersome to program as well as dusk to dawn lights which do not always work. The primarily issue was never cost but convenience. In addition, I need a better solution to my Abba Towel Warmer which did provide for a very difficult programmable timer but for more money.
I have all Adorne switches in my house and I just decided by chance to look onto their site. I had replaced all of the standard switches with the Adorne product so I felt that maybe they had something to offer. They did. They now have sofTap Wi-Fi switches and also a wifi connecter controller. I called to verify and learned that there are two types of switches-Master and slave. Since I did not need a 3 way switch (thus a slave) I only needed Master wi-fi switches. Once I got them I took out the old electronic Adorne switches and rewired in the new Masters. I did try to program them but failed miserably so I call for technical help and got it. In a matter of 20 minutes all 3 were programed in and then scenes were created with times to turn and off. Saving in the long run time and money and I got the right set up to resolve this problem which I had been trying to solve since I moved into my house.

We've replaced all of our previous plugs and switches with the legrand adorne series and chosen this switch for non-dimmable places. It works great and feels much better than the paddle. Agreed, it is a premium you have to pay for it but long term you will enjoy it. Also great feature to have a little light in the switch that you actually find it when entering a dark room and you can also recognize if it is still on and the bulb is broken as the little light in the switch is off then.
We had one issue to install a switch in one room and had to go with a paddle there. Not sure if it was the size of the sofTap switch or another reason. My recommendation, have extras that you can make a decision while the electrician is there.

Buzz is killer
Love Legrand and this switch looks great but a REALLY loud high pitched buzz-ish sound when light is off. Had legrand whisper switch on hand, installed on same light and zero buzz. Will be returning this one.

Can I install a remote switch in a separate circuit from the master?
Yes. You can install the remote switch in a separate circuit anywhere within the range of your WiFi.

I have several LIFX bulbs in my bedroom. They are connected to iPhone via Apple Home. Can this WiFi switch be used to control lights set up this way? If not, have you considered adding this capability? I love adorne and would like to stick with them.
The Adorne WiFi ready switches don’t have Apple Home support. You would need to buy a hub and download the Legrand app to control the switches. Legrand does have Apple Home supported switches in another line, Radiant.

What is the the difference between the softap and the touch in the switches? The difference is obvious in the dimmer, but for the switch they look identical online. If I can save the extra $20 per switch, it’ll add up with the amount I’m ordering. Thanks
The Softap requires actual soft pressure on the switch to operate where as the Touch switch just needs a touch on the face of the switch(like a cellphone) to operate it.

Do I need a slave switch, or can I just use the master for a 3way light switch?
You can use two master switches to complete a 3way applcation. When instaling, the second master would not use the LOAD terminal.

How do the wifi switches and dimmers work for 3 way operation? Can I install a non-wifi paddle at the slave location and the wifi master at the master location of the 3-way set-up at my home?
The wifi switches and dimmers communicate through radio frequency.
Install the master and it should turn on and off and dim the light. The Remote wont do anything until You program the Master to control the Remote.
You won't be able to install a non-wifi paddle at the slave location and the wifi master at the master location of the 3-way set-up at my home
The Wifi ready Masters need to work with a Wifi ready Remote in a 3 way set up

How are the Softap and the Touch switches different in the way they operate? They both seem that they will turn on with the lightest of touches. Is the Softap actually a very sensitive push button?
Thank you for your inquiry regarding our adorne switches. You are correct in your assumption. The touch is similar to the glass on a smart phone where as the sofTap is more like the click of a computer mouse, in essence a very sensitive push button. Hope this helps!
