Hi- Will any of your GFI outlets fit into this P108W shallow box?

Asked by: nomarkup
Thank you for your question regarding Pass & Seymour SHALLOW SWITCH AND OUTLET BOX(Model # P108W). Our non-tamper resistant GFCI's have a depth of 1.03" and we're not aware of any specific rule that quantifies minimum depth. The old standby is that per NEC 110.12 – “Electrical equipment shall be installed in a neat and workmanlike manner”. So if the box is too shallow or too small, there are multiple wires and wire nuts, multiple wire entries / fittings, and the device is crushing wire insulation, or is bulging out of the wall, the AHJ can reject the installation strictly on “workmanship”.

hi, does duplex receptacles back&side wire (cat. no. TR5252) fit for this outbox?

Asked by: Graz
Thank you for your inquiry regarding our P108W. This box has a depth of 1.125". Our TR5252 has a depth of .93". Therefore, the device will fit in the box. If there are a couple wire nuts behind the receptacle, it may be a tight squeeze. There will not be a ton of room to work with but the devices will certainly work together. Hope this helps!
