Rated 2 out of 5 by from Literally the worst brand of new work box I don’t understand what these engineers were thinking when making the knockouts for romex in these boxes. They never open how you want them to and they’re a pain to work with in general. Single gangs are near as bad as their other boxes 2 gang and up. I’ve been doing electrical for almost 10 years and I don’t know an electrician that actually prefers these boxes

Can the 18r single gang be mounted in clinging and how much weight can it hold

The S118R is designed for wall vertical mount and if a box is not marked with a specific weight then it has a 6lbs maximum fixture rating.

can these be installed in a 2 hour firewall within 2' of an oppsing outlet

For use in fire resistance floor-ceiling assemblies constructed with wood joists, wood flooring and gypsum wallboard ceilings with 2 hr or less classification periods. Clearance between boxes and cutouts in ceiling shall not exceed 1/8 in. The area of openings for boxes shall not aggregate more than 31 sq in. per 100 sq ft of ceiling area with no opening exceeding 8 sq in. No box shall be located within 4.5 ft of another box.

Does the Legrand Slater electrical bracket box meet residential building code if fiberglass insulation is used in the walls where the box is located?

UL Classified - All Slater Plastic Boxes are Underwriters Laboratories Listed. Slater Plastic Boxes shown that are UL Classified for Fire Resistance meet the requirements of UL263 and have a two hour fire resistance rating. These boxes may be used in fire resistant walls and ceilings. Installation information for Slater Plastic Boxes Classified for Fire Resistance may be found in the UL Fire Resistance Directory under category CEYY for Legrand(see attached).

The "Quick Entry" are rated to accept multiple cables as long as you do not exceed the 22.5 CU IN VOL rating.
