Questions & Answers
The max. wire diameter is listed as 5.9mm. What is the minimum wire diameter?
As the original inventor and world’s largest manufacturer of welded wire mesh cable tray, Cablofil cable tray products have many unique and patented features. Through our research and design efforts, we have discovered that certain wires in the cable tray are load bearing and other wires are not load bearing. Our cable tray design has increased the diameters of the load bearing wires 25% greater than 0.196” and the non-loadbearing wires at or slightly below 0.196”. This unique combination of wire sizes, patented in the United States and around the world, allows Cablofil cable trays to be stronger than the competitors that must use all 4mm diameter wires to achieve comparable load capacity. Cablofil cable trays also deflect less when loaded and are faster to cut since only the load bearing wires are larger. I recommend using load tables to compare strength of trays as cable diameter does not correlate to a stronger product.

where do i find accessories for CAB 901 CF105/150EZ
There are many accessories compatible with CF105/150EZ. I recommend downloading the Cablofil catalog. This is the easiest way to review Cablofil's wire mesh cable tray options.

Do you provide the CF105 electroplated zinc custom painted (specifically red)?
Cablofil's standard practice is to powder coat over bare steel which provides the best adhesion. Replace the suffix EZ in your part number with PE. Let your sales rep or distributor know that PE = red.

How do I bend a horizontal offset
Wire mesh fittings are field fabricated so there are multiple ways to make fittings. If you are trying to make a 90 degree horizontal elbow you could use the EZT90EZ bend kit. I recommend downloading Cablofil's catalog from the website. There is a 24-page section detailing how to make different kinds of bends.

What is the requirement specifications for Seismic Support placement and frequency of placement?
In geographic regions of moderate seismic activity, a good starting point is a 4-way sway support such as the SZMCKIT or similar every 30’ and at the support nearest to each fitting. Seismic calculations can be quite rigorous in high active areas. If a detailed analysis or drawings are required, the contractor should hire an engineering firm to review and make recommendations.

Are wire mesh type cable trays available in aluminum?
Wire mesh cable tray products are only available in steel or stainless steel. Cablofil invented wire mesh cable tray in 1972 and is the world’s largest producer. We can assure you that aluminum wire mesh tray is not available in the United States or anywhere in the world.
The resistance welding process used to make wire mesh tray produces a strong welded gridwork of wires required to make a robust cable tray. Resistance welded aluminum is not common in manufacturing for any industry due to the weak weld strength and weld strength inconsistency. Aluminum ladder tray is welded utilizing a different welding process (typically MIG or TIG) which is not conducive to use with wire rods.
We assume at some point in time the specification was changed from an aluminum ladder tray to a wire mesh tray but the material change was missed.
