Legrand, North and Central America Continues Support of Building Homes for Heroes® with Latest Home Gifting


WEST HARTFORD, CT – November 25, 2019 –Legrand, North and Central America, continues to show its proud support of those who serve our country by providing product donations and volunteering time to complete the latest Building Homes for Heroes® home gifted to a local injured veteran last week.

Army Specialist Craig Hall received his new home, located in Glastonbury, Connecticut, last Wednesday, making this the 200th home that has been modified or gifted mortgage-free to a veteran through the Building Homes for Heroes program. Building Homes for Heroes began gifting homes to injured veterans in 2006 following the founder’s experience volunteering in the search-and-rescue following the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. They are now a nationwide organization seeking to provide a home every 11 days, on average to an injured veteran.  

Legrand has supported the Building Homes for Heroes program, as part of its Better Communities initiative for five years with fundraising efforts and product donations from the company’s different divisions. Legrand’s Better Communities Initiative supports employee volunteer and philanthropic efforts throughout the nation to help people enjoy healthier, more productive and rewarding lives.

This new home is specially designed for Hall who lost is left leg below the knee in Iraq 12 years ago. The home is outfitted with a range of Legrand switches, dimmers, outlets and wall plates from the radiant® collection as well as a Nuvo Bluetooth-enabled table top 2.1 speaker system.
