Legrand products contribute to reducing site impact on the surrounding area
The Energy and Atmosphere (EA) category* approaches energy from a holistic perspective, addressing energy use reduction, energy-efficient design strategies, and renewable energy sources.
*Use of multiple products within the designated credit does not equate to achievement of multiple points in all cases.

Minimum Energy Performance & Optimize Energy Performance Credits
Minimum Energy Performance (prerequisite for 2009 and v4): To establish the minimum level of energy efficiency for the proposed building and systems to reduce environmental and economic impacts associated with excessive energy use.
Optimize Energy Performance (2009 and v4): To achieve increasing levels of energy performance beyond the prerequisite standard to reduce environmental and economic impacts associated with excessive energy use.
Max. Potential Point(s): 1-13
(Combining Legrand solutions can contribute to the achievement of up to 13 points, depending on project priorities and product choices)

Our system allows occupants to reduce load with full dimming control and digital switches programmed to control all loads. Points: TBD by project. (Final points earned depends on building owner usage and percent load reduction).
Our plug load controllable receptables and wireless plug load RF receptacles reduce vampire loads from devices that consume power even when turned off. Point(s): 3 (Estimated 10% reduction)
Our LED fixtures are the most efficient luminaire choice available - and they meet aesthetic design requirements. Point(s): Not applicable – products contribute generally to overall efficiency.
Demand Response Credit
Demand Response (v4): To increase participation in demand response technologies and programs that make energy generation and distribution systems more efficient, increase grid reliability and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Max. Potential Point(s): 1

Our system controller acts as the brain for all subsystems involved in demand response. It can be programmed to match daily variations in utility demand and energy rates. Point(s): 1
The system controls and monitors every switch, outlet and lighting load to optimize energy performance during a demand response event. Point(s): 1
Fundamental Commissioning and Verification & Enhanced Commissioning Credits
Fundamental Commissioning and Verification (prerequisite for 2009 and v4): To support the design, construction and eventual operation of a project that meets the owner’s project requirements for energy, water, indoor environmental quality and durability.
Enhanced Commissioning (v4): To further support the design, construction and eventual operation of a project that meets the owner’s project requirements for energy, water, indoor environmental quality and durability.
Max. Potential Point(s): 4
