My home has a wired Ethernet/Cable smart home infrastructure with both types of wires distributed for indoor/outdoor wired use-cases and all wires terminate inside two metal Legrand/On-Q structured wiring cabinets. Since 2003 my Ethernet infrastructure evolved from a dial-up telecom ISP modem service, to its current configuration, a 1-gig Fiber Internet modem ISP service. Along the journey I’ve installed and I’m still using a DA1054 4-port router/switch, next I added the Legrand/On-Q DA1008 8-port switch which are both now connected to the 1-Gig ISP and to a 4-point 6E mesh router system supporting 20 wired & 40+ WiFi devices. Throughout this journey my Legrand/On-Q switches are just as reliable as the day they were installed. So when Legrand/On-Q released their new DA8000WH switch, it was an easy decision for me to add 2 more of these to my Ethernet cabinet, as they are interoperable with all of my existing equipment, which is simply amazing after 20+ years, giving me even more confidence in Legrand/On-Q AV products. Also a heads up related to the DA8000WH switch design for those who have the metal Legrand/On-Q structured wiring cabinets, you’ll need to order the Legrand/On-Q Universal Mounting Plate # AC1040F because the new switch design doesn’t come with a bracket to be properly installed in metal structured wiring cabinets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ed from Love the Legrand On-Q series The On-Q series offer a centralized place to put all your audio/video connections in one place. I have my entire house wired with every room having at least one jack per wall. These all lead to two panels where I can easily switch wall jacks and activate/deactivate as I rearrange furniture. I have both co-ax and CAT 6 where my outside antenna, phone lines and cable modem is stored as the source for all my equipment. This is so convenient and easy to do with my chart stating how each jack is wired.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cary B from Great addition to my wiring closet. Our home had a wiring closet when we bought it, but it was a horrid mess. I was determined to bring order to it and started rewiring. I bought another switch to expand my options and then I stumbled on this. The fact that it fits inside the closet makes the installation so much cleaner. I've been very happy and this, coupled with the new Cat6 cable that I ran, is giving me near full speed on my gigabit service. I docked one star because even though I have a Legrand/OnQ cabinet, the holes didn't align and I had to drill it. A minor issue, but an issue nonetheless. I'm still in the process of wiring all of the drops into the new punchdown block but thing are shaping up nicely. I'd definitely recommend and buy again.
