My home has a wired Ethernet/Cable smart home infrastructure with both types of wires distributed for indoor/outdoor wired use-cases and all wires terminate inside two metal Legrand/On-Q structured wiring cabinets. Since 2003 my Ethernet infrastructure evolved from a dial-up telecom ISP modem service, to its current configuration, a 1-gig Fiber Internet modem ISP service. Along the journey I’ve installed and I’m still using a DA1054 4-port router/switch, next I added the Legrand/On-Q DA1008 8-port switch which are both now connected to the 1-Gig ISP and to a 4-point 6E mesh router system supporting 20 wired & 40+ WiFi devices. Throughout this journey my Legrand/On-Q switches are just as reliable as the day they were installed. So when Legrand/On-Q released their new DA8000WH switch, it was an easy decision for me to add 2 more of these to my Ethernet cabinet, as they are interoperable with all of my existing equipment, which is simply amazing after 20+ years, giving me even more confidence in Legrand/On-Q AV products. Also a heads up related to the DA8000WH switch design for those who have the metal Legrand/On-Q structured wiring cabinets, you’ll need to order the Legrand/On-Q Universal Mounting Plate # AC1040F because the new switch design doesn’t come with a bracket to be properly installed in metal structured wiring cabinets.
