Requirements apply to purchases of iron, steel, and construction materials, and manufactured products that are permanently incorporated into infrastructure projects. Cost of domestically sourced components must exceed 55% of the total cost of all components.
Declare 2.0/Third Party Verified	Finelite	Declare is an industry standard that keeps track of the material ingredients in the form of a ""nutritional albel"". This label lists all the components used in construction goods and is free of harmful chemicals found on the LBC Red List. Declare products help support project teams in achieving green building standards such as LEED, WELL, and LBC (Living Building Challenge).

Title 24/JA8	Finelite	Title 24 is the sixth section of the California Energy Code that states that all residential and non-residential buildings must only use a capped number of watts per linear foot of luminaires to reduce energy consumption. Title 24 products are highly efficient and can be tailored to your exact light output requirements to help you achieve project goals. An Addendum to the California Energy Code - JA8 is a subsection of Title 24 that lists specific requirements a light source must meet to qualify as residential lighting. This includes points like CRI > 90, CCT < 4000k, R9 > 50, and 6 other categories.
WELL & LEED	Finelite	WELL Building Standard & LEED WELL is a certification program dedicated towards promoting building occupant health and wellness. Using WELL products can earn you points to receiving WELL certification for your building. The Lighting category is just one part of the full WELL building picture that includes 11 requirements for visual design, circadian design, glare-free lighting, color quality, and more. LEED - Created by the U.S. Green Building Council as a means of promoting more environmentally-friendly design in the construction of new buildings. LEED products can count towards LEED certification in buildings by fulfilling standards such as reducing light pollution, providing versatility in light controls using sensors, and optimizing and minimizing energy performance.
UL	Kenall	UL/CUL--A product bearing the UL mark is determined to have met the minimum requirements of the applicable product safety standards as certified by Underwriters Laboratories,LLC, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory(NRTL). The “US” next to the mark indicates compliance with US standards, and “C” next to the mark indicates compliance with Canadian standards.
ETL	Kenall	ETL— A product bearing the ETL Mark is determined to have met the minimum requirements of the applicable product safety standards as certified by Interek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). The “US” next to the mark indicates compliance with US standards, and “C” next to the mark indicates compliance with Canadian standards.
BABA	Kenall	BABA--The Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act was enacted as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs (IIJA) Act of 2021. It mandates that infrastructure projects funded by the federal government use materials and products made in the United States.
Ingress Protection: IP64, IP65, IP66	Kenall	IP64 - UL certified IP64 per IEC 60598 ensures that the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against splashing water without any harmful effects. IP65 - UL Certified IP65 per IEC 60598 ensures that the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against jet streams of water from any direction without any harmful effects. IP66 - UL Certified IP66 per IEC 60598 ensures that the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against water projected in powerful jets without any harmful effects.
ADA	Kenall	ADA Compliant - Although ADA is not specific to lighting, it does impact fixture by creating standards for wall sconce projection space and hanging light clearance. Section 4.4 of the ADA states that” objects projecting from walls with their leading edges between 27” and 80” above the finished floor shall protrude no more than 4” into walks, halls, corridors, passageways or aisles"".
IK10	Kenall	IK10 Rated - Impact protection (IK) ratings indicate the ability of an enclosure to protect its contents from external impacts, per IEC IEC 60068-2-75:1997-08. The IK10 ratings range from IK00, or no protection, up to IK10, a maximum of 20 joules of impact protection, or the equivalent of a 5kg mass dropped from 40 cm above the impacted surface.
CCEA	Kenall	CCEA Approved—The City of Chicago Environmental Air (CCEA) rating ensures that the luminaire is inherently airtight. Wiring and/ or branch circuit terminations are sealed off and gasketed from the plenum air space. This listing ensures that the luminaire is sealed to limit air flow from the room side to the plenum
NFPA101	Kenall	NFPA101—This National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) Life Safety Code pertains to egress facilities. The code establishes minimum criteria for the design of egress facilities so as to allow prompt escape of occupants from buildings or, where desirable, into safe areas within buildings
Peace of Mind Guarantee	Kenall	Kenall will repair or replace any high abuse lighting fixture rendered inoperable due to intentional abuse by vandals or accidental impact for the normal service life of the fixture.
NSF	Kenall	NSF2— An NSF2 Listing denotes that the luminaire has been evaluated for corrosion resistance, cleanability and the ability of exposed material to withstand normal wear.
Energy Star	Focal Point	ENERGY STAR is a voluntary program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that promotes energy efficiency in a wide range of consumer products and building systems. Products that earn the ENERGY STAR label are independently certified to meet strict standards for energy efficiency. They deliver cost-saving energy efficiency solutions that protect the climate, improve air quality, and protect public health. ENERGY STAR partners – including many state and local governments and energy utilities – often provide tax exemptions, credits and rebates for use of ENERGY STAR certified luminaires, including specific products from Focal Point. Our ENERGY STAR certified downlights have been evaluated for compliance with the ENERGY STAR Downlights Version 1.0 standard applicable as of January 1, 2025.
Title 24 (JA8)	Focal Point	California’s Building Energy Efficiency Standard Title 24, Part 6 is designed to ensure new and existing residential and nonresidential buildings achieve energy efficiency. Considered one of the strictest energy codes in the United States, it is published and regularly updated by the California Energy Commission (CEC) to preserve the quality of the environment through the reduction of energy usage by limiting the allowed lighting power, in watts, in a building. Residential luminaires must be certified to meet the High Efficacy Lighting standards under Joint Appendix 8 (JA8). Our 2016 & 2019 JA8 High Efficacy Lighting luminaires meet the strict energy standards and other criteria specified by the CEC for both residential and nonresidential applications, ensuring energy savings without compromising on light quality.
IP65	Focal Point	The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has developed the ingress protection (IP) ratings, which grade the resistance of an enclosure against the intrusion of dust or liquids. Focal Point IP65 rated luminaires are tested per IEC 60529 to be dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction.
NSF	Focal Point	An NSF2 Listing denotes that the luminaire has been evaluated for corrosion resistance, cleanability and the ability of exposed material to withstand normal wear. This supports the infection control standards established by healthcare facilities as it indicates that the luminaire is easy to sanitize.
Declare / LBC Red List Free	Focal Point	Declare is a nutrition label for building products. It is designed to help specifiers quickly identify products that meet their project requirements, including green building standards such as the Core Green Building, Living Building Challenge (LBC), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and WELL Certifications. Several Focal Point products are Declared and the PET felt used in our acoustic solutions is LBC Red List Free.
Damp Rated	Focal Point	A location that is normally or periodically subject to condensation of moisture in, on, or adjacent to, electrical equipment, and includes partially protected locations such as covered outdoor environments

Wet Location Rated	Focal Point	The Underwriters Laboratory (UL) designates as wet location an area in which water and other liquids may drip, splash, or flow on or against the electrical components of the luminaire. Focal Point wet location luminaires are tested to be suitable for use in wet location rated indoor or outdoor covered environments.
Buy American Act (BAA)	Wattstopper	The Buy American Act (BAA) requires the U.S. federal government to prioritize American-made goods in its procurement processes, ensuring that products used in public projects are predominantly manufactured or sourced within the United States. It aims to support domestic industries, boost economic growth, and promote self-sufficiency in government supply chains.
