Questions & Answers
PLEASE TELL ME WHICH MODEL TO USE FOR A MULTI FAMILY CORRIDOR THAT WILL DIM DOWN TO 50% DURING UNOCCUPIED TIMES
A CX‑100‑4 is an analog sensor, and analog sensors do not support the type of stepped or programmed dimming you’re looking for. For applications such as a multifamily corridor where lights must dim to 50% during unoccupied periods, a digital solution is required.
A suitable option is the LMDX‑100, which offers similar mounting characteristics but operates as a digital sensor with enhanced functionality. This sensor must be paired with a digital room controller, such as one from the LMRC series. These controllers are available in multiple configurations, including switched versions, 0–10V dimming versions, and options with single or multiple relays.
The capability to dim to 50% when the space becomes unoccupied is provided by a dimming‑enabled LMRC controller. The specific programmable feature that accomplishes this behavior is known as “Partial Off.” This setting allows the lights to reduce to a predetermined level—such as 50%—instead of turning fully off during vacancy.

Can these be safely used in exterior locations if mounted under soffit?
The CX-100 sensor does not have an IP rating suited for exterior usage
