Questions & Answers

Can you switch an outlet out for an USB port?

Asked by: Mel
Hi Mel, This unit is not modular so the devices themselves cannot be changed or swapped out. The P4AC20 would be our closest option as a cord ended plug in outlet center with USB ports. https://www.legrand.us/wire-and-cable-management/furniture-power-and-table-boxes/on-surface-furniture-power/20w-usb-c-plug-in-outlet-center/p/p4ac20?text=p4ac20 If you need any additional information, please feel free to reach out to us directly at 1-844-957-3783, option 2 for Wiremold, followed by option 2 again for tech support. You can also email us directly at technical.support@legrand.us. Thank you.

How do I reset the breaker? There is no power at any outlet, the wall outlet is 120VAC. The breaker at the end appears stuck and cannot be moved.

Asked by: JimmyBob
Hello JimmyBob, To reset the breaker, unplug the strip from the wall and push the breaker back in on the end cap. If this does not work we'll gladly replace the product if it falls within the Warranty period which is one year from the date of original installation or two years from the date of purchase, whichever is sooner. For any additional questions feel free to reach us direct at 1-844-957-3783. From the main menu choose option 2 for Wiremold followed by option 2 for Technical Support. Thank you for your interest in our product.

I have the hardwired Plugmold strip mounted under the kitchen cabinets. All the outlets stopped working after plugging in a coffee maker. The circuit breakers in the basement are all ok. Is there a circuit breaker in the strip that needs to be reset? How?

Asked by: Shug
Hello, This question is posted under a plug in outlet center with a resettable circuit breaker. If the strip you have is hardwired there is no circuit breaker on those units. I would suggest giving us a call to discuss the actual model you have. We can be reached at 1-800-621-0049, option 3 for tech support.

Is there a 10’ plugmold in chrome/stainless outlets 6” centers?

Asked by: ANdrew
If you are referring to hardwired Plugmold strips with 15A, 120V simplex receptacles, a 10' run can be accomplished by joining (2) 5' sections together. The part numbers for the 5' sections are S20GB506TR if you need the receptacles to be tamper resistant (TR) and S20GB506 if you do not need TR receptacles. These units are stainless steel. We do not offer Plugmold in chrome. To join the 5' units together you must use a 2001 coupling (one included with each strip) and an S2006 cover clip (sold separately). If you are referring to cord ended units, unfortunately, we do not offer them in 10' lengths. The longest we offer is 77" in gray finish. An example of such a unit is the 7712ULBC. This unit has (12) 15A, 120V receptacles and a 6' cord. Here's a link: https://www.legrand.us/wiremold/power-distribution/cabinetmate-power-only/7712ulbc-plug-in-outlet-center-unit.aspx

What is the 15 amp switch on the end of my pm36c six outlet used for? It seems to be in a locked position. Would it be the reason why one of my outlets does not work?

Asked by: Nickybravo
The switch at the end is the circuit breaker reset. The switch is only used if the strip were to trip, and you can reset it. If it tripped, then all outlets would not work. If only one outlet does not work, and the rest do, the unit itself may be need to be replaced.

Where can I find the brackets used to mount the PM36C Multi-outlet Strip? I have one but I can't find the brackets..

Asked by: Franklin
I found the VPMAP, Accessory Pack for Plugmold Strips for $5.97 at Home Depot before I got your response. It includes the brackets that I was looking for. It wasn't free but still a reasonable solution. Thanks

What is the recommended rated power cord/wire to use with the Plugmold Hard-Wired Multi-Outlet Strip? I need to make a power cord a little over 7' to install my outlet strip. What do you recommend? I was planning on using 12-3 AWG SOOW wire cable.

Asked by: Keith W.
Plugmold hard-wired sections are not listed for use with an SOOW cord. We wouldn't be able to provide recommendations since it would require modification to the product, and be subject to the local authority having jurisdiction for approval. The Plugmold is UL listed as a multi-outlet assembly (not a relocatable power tab), and would need to be fed/wired directly into the circuit.
