Hello, thank you for your inquiry. This device requires a hot and neutral wire be connected in order to function. You will have to identify which wires in your electrical box are hot and neutral respectively. On the device, you will need to connect your hot wire to the device black wire lead and your neutral wire to the device white wire lead.
