Reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 3000k Light Temperature Be warned that the 3000k light temperature is extremely unpleasing to the eye. It has a fluorescent quality that is not acceptable for my application. I'm glad that I testing the light out before installing the system, although I am already specifically hard wired for it. I called customer service to ask if they either make the light in other temperatures, or if they plan to make these adjustable - as many other manufacturers do now. The gentleman said he was not aware. For such a pricey system, it's a huge disappointment - and for me to have gone all the way down the road as far as to be hard wired for the system, it's really disappointing.

Questions & Answers

further up in this chain you stated that we need the external ( i would have to have 5 of them so very expensive) power source. in the desc it states: Simply plug directly into any system module. can you please let me know which is correct.

Asked by: curtis wingdfield
Hello, The slimline lights require use of an external driver. The individual light module connects to your external driver which connects to the track for power. Each slimline light module can also be snapped together with other slimline light modules to allow one external driver to power up to 6 or 10 feet of lighting (depending on what size driver you chose). I hope this help!

Is Legrand planning on making these in other light temperatures other than 3k, or at least making them adjustable as many other manufacturer offer?  For a very expensive product, comparably, I'm really surprised by the lack of flexibility in this regard.

Asked by: Eric
I haven't heard of any plans to do so but we'll definitely let the design team know of your feedback and request.

Can these lights be connected in-line with each other, without a gap?  For example, I have a 24" cabinet and want to run 2 of these in line, not staggered.

Asked by: Eric
Yes, two 12" LED slimline lights can be connected together without any gap(see page 6) on instruction link: https://legrand.webdamdb.com/directdownload.php?ti=55647581&tok=sE2bCeIRjDoDIxWcmLDlrARR

What is the height of the slimline light? Would I be able to conceal it with a 3/4" thick light rail on my cabinets?

Asked by: Dan
The height of the slimline led is 3/8" and a link to the full dimensional drawing is attached below. https://legrand.webdamdb.com/directdownload.php?ti=55645187&tok=wSjgQtk/UA7LM4XK9rlq6wRR

Do these need a dimmable driver if installed with a Control Box with Paddle Dimmer and GFCI outlet (part #APCB6W2)?

Asked by: bucsfan24
Yes, the external driver is required when using the Slimline LED's.

I have a design including 6 12" slimline lights. Catalog states that the 30W dimmable driver is for up to 6' of lights, while the light and driver descriptions state for up to 5' of lights. Why the discrepancy? The math works out that the 6 lights <30W.

Asked by: slimsmith
Hello, The catalog is incorrect, we recommend the 60 Watt LED driver for over 5' of light fixture length. My apologies for the confusion.

Are these motion-sensored? Will they turn on automatically when I walk into the kitchen?

Asked by: ginamaybrown
The Slimline LED's are not motion activated. They will need a dimmer or switch to control them ON/OFF.

Are these dimmable?

Asked by: Steve
The Slimline LED strip lights require an external driver, which is dimmable using an ELV type dimmer.
