Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good This is the only AFCI/GFCI receptacle on the market that I've found that does not require installation in the first outlet of the branch circuit (all others print this requirement in the instructions), which can be impractical for a simple receptacle replacement when the first outlet is not readily accessible. A few nuisance trips on the AFCI side, unfortunately, but not super frequent. Would prefer if the orientation of the text would be upright when receptacle is horizontally mounted with the neutral side of the receptacle is facing up, instead of the hot side.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great idea but too much blue in the light Comfortable with the LeGrand brand from my days of living in France, I installed this GFCI about six months ago> The idea of an integrated night light was attractive, so you don't have to use one of the outlets just to run the night light. However, the design choice of color temperature of the LED is way too blue. Too much blue at night disrupts circadian rhythms, which is exactly what you *don't* want in a night light. (See AMA paper from 2016 at https://www.darksky.org/wp-content/uploads/bsk-pdf-manager/AMA_Report_2016_60.pdf). Also, the light source is not shielded, so you are exposed to glare in addition. To partially remedy the situation, I cover the light source with a yellow Post-It flag. For these night lights, I would recommend to LeGrand to upgrade to a 2200-2400K color temperature LED.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inspection issues Electrical inspectors are failing inspections because of these arch fault/GFCI outlets. Inspectors are saying that this product is not U.L. listed for any other breakers than Eaton breakers. Will only allow on an Eaton panel with Eaton breakers to comply with NEC 2020 code. Need verification if this is false.

Questions & Answers

Concerning radiant® 15A Tamper-Resistant Dual-Function AFCI/GFCI Outlet, the red light came on with continuous beeping. Do I need to replace the outlet or is it simply the matter of pressing on the reset button?

Asked by: Hiro
Hello, the light being on solid would typically indicate that the device was tripped. Resetting it should restore normal function. I hope this helps

My electrician just installed 2 of these outlets in my kitchen.  Now whenever we turn on our blender (Vita mix, 120v, 60 Hz, 11.5 amps, 2002 model year) it presents an Arc fault.  What's up?  I want to use that blender on my kitchen circuit like I used to

I have a customer with two of these in the kitchen. One I installed a couple of years ago and one that was installed this year. Both outlets work fine and test and reset as expected. But twice they have both tripped with nothing plugged in.

Asked by: Eddie
These are safety devices that are designed to trip when a Ground fault or an Arc Fault occured. There are many factors that could take place to make one of these devices to trip. worn insulation, conductive dusts, water etc. Chances are what ever tripped the unit was a temperary occasion. If the Fault was still there the unit would not reset when You press the reset button
