Questions & Answers
The instructions for this fitting claim I can use 9 #12 wires with this. The fill chart for 1/2" EMT also claims I can use 9 #12 wires. Please explain what is meant by the derating of fill capacity mentioned in the description.
Hello. This fitting derates the fill capacity because it has a more restricted area than standard 1/2" EMT. In the case of #12 wires, it so happens that it will still fit (9) of them at the required 40% (the same as the EMT), but with no room for overfill. Thanks!
