Questions & Answers

Which single gang junction box is compatible with the cutout? Everything I have tried is too large to slide in

Asked by: Kevin Eads
They want you to use their proprietary electric box. What you need is a metal "old work box". I purchased one from Home Depot and bent the plaster ears a bit to make the mounting work properly.

I’m looking to use this box in an unheated garage where the temperature will get below 32 degrees. I noticed the operating temperature is 32-122. What is the concern if it gets below 32 or above 122?  I only plan to have excess hdmi and cat6 in it.

Asked by: John
The concern is plastic deformation. While the unit will not spontaneously fail at that temperature, The plastic could experience excess shrinkage at those lower temps. Over a long period of time the plastic may experience cracking due to temperature stresses. If any of this are a hindrance to your use of this product, please consider the Legrand | AV CHIEF PAC series metal wall boxes.

Can this be used behind a TV that is located outdoors under a covered pavilion?

Asked by: Erik
The enclosure is listed for indoor use only. Please consult your local Authority Having Jurisdiction to determine whether the unit will be usable in your application. Pay special attention to the electrical box requirements for this box as it is designed to use a standard indoor metal gang box for power.

WHAT SIZE ARE THE KNOCK OUTS

Asked by: ROGELIO
Top and bottom are concentric knockouts. 1.4" and 2" approximately. The side knockouts are 1.4" If you need grommets for the 2" knockouts, those are part number AC1034.

where do you get the brackets for inside of the box. it did not come with. which it should of at that price

Asked by: Austin
The ENP1700NA only includes the plastic enclosure with no additional mounting hardware included in the box. Any of the internal mounting options needed are additional accessories and can be found in the Structured Wiring and Connectivity catalog located on our website at the link below. https://legrand.webdamdb.com/directdownload.php?ti=55669725&tok=JXtWd6CVbiz4GWVpVBwE3ARR

Can a power outlet be installed on the top of the enclosure instead of the bottom? Would the enclosure support the weight?

Asked by: Erik
You can install the enclosure in either orientation (outlets down or up). Assuming you make the cutout in the wall the correct size, there should be no concerns with doing this.
