Questions & Answers

We have 2 DA1008's with multiple ethernet cords plugged into them. I am them both DA1008s to a Linksys Mesh Router. When I connect them, the wifi stops working on the router. Is there a way to configure the ports to make it work?

Asked by: RobinJam
If the wifi stops working on the routers when you connect those switches, either the switches are faulty, or the units are connected incorrectly. We would recommend verifying that there is only one cable from the Linksys router to the first DA1008 and a single cable from the first DA1008 to the second. Then verify that each cable connected to the DA1008 is a valid ethernet cable that goes to an in-use jack in the home. If all of these things are tested and you still have issues, we would recommend replacing both DA1008's with a single large switch. Our sister company, Luxul, makes a number of ethernet switches. You can mount a large switch in an ONQ enclosure by using an AC1040 mounting plate.

My two mesh satellites have been successfully connected to the router through DA1008 switch thus making a 'wired' connection. Now the router's web page tells me they are 'wireless' and all the switch's port lights including the unused ports light up.??

Asked by: Way e
That would indicate the the switch has experienced an internal failure. The unit will need to be replaced.

What is the temperature rating on this device? I would like to use it in an attic where temperatures may be upwards of 100 F. Wil this device fail at those temperatures?

Asked by: Phil
From the Installation Sheet located on the product page of the DA1008: "The switch will operate properly in humidity up to 90% and at a temperature of 0-50 degrees C."

I have an issue where some of the ports in my home are not working. I have confirmed that all lines have a connection, however I cannot get internet from 3 of the 5 jacks. My router is plugged into one of the working ones, is this a configuration issue?

Asked by: Calrissian7
The switch is an unmanaged switch and therefore has no configuration. Test the switch's functionality by bringing a laptop directly to the switch and connecting with a patch cable to each of the suspected faulty ports. If only one of the ports continues to work, the switch has likely failed. Should that device still be in warranty, please reach out to technical support at 18002234162 Option 3 for replacement.

I have this switch for my home. One of the ports is connected to my Router and rest of the ports are connected to the cables from different room. However the when I connect the tv says network found but I guess the internet is not working.

Asked by: Abinash
The switch is likely malfunctioning then. Try taking a laptop directly to the switch and connecting with a patch cable.

Can the ethernet cable from my modem be connected directly to the switch, and then to my router, or must the modem be connected to the router first and then back to the switch. My wireless router and modem are separate and in different locations.

Asked by: Ted B.
the router must be before the switch for proper connectivity
