Rated 4 out of 5 by Ojugbana from Back To Listening Well The original IR volume control was installed as part of the upgrades when my house was built 12 years ago. After a new HVAC install in the arctic of my home (& the associated re-wiring of a Nest thermostat), volume controls in two of the upstairs bedrooms ceased to work. I looked for this everywhere else but could only find it on the LeGrand website. I had, in the interim, tried other (non-IR) Legrand volume controls as well as volume controls from other manufacturers: no joy! This is almost 2ce the price of the others I tried but, it works very well, offers more than one connection option, & I am looking forward to another 12 years of dedicated service from the volume control(s). One negative is that there's some feedback when the ceiling fan is switched off in the master bedroom; I suspect it has to do with the speaker connections necessitated by having another "stand-alone" input source for that room (versus the input source in the living room that feeds all the speakers in 5 rooms in the house. I also am not thrilled that the power connections to this amplified volume control, are not as study as, say the speaker connections to the same volume control....so 1ce you have it in the wall mount, taking it out for any reason becomes a worry (since there's a chance of disconnecting the power from source)
