What is a Tru-Universal Dimmer?
The lamp market is in a state of transition. Incandescent lamps are being phased out, and there is a market shift toward Compact Fluorescents (CFLs) and Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs). An important part of this change is the ongoing debate around the issues of energy efficiency and associated costs, and the environmental impact of the new lamp technologies. While these issues are top of mind, and of great importance, another challenge is confronting end-users, contractors and distributors. Older-generation dimmers are not compatible with the new types of lamps on the market. Legrand’s radiant® Tru-Universal Dimmer alleviates this concern and simplifies the dimming market by working with any dimmable 120V bulb or fixture.
How many bulbs can a switch control?
Device count is dependent on the electrical load of the bulbs. Please see the ratings on the product page specific to your device: https://www.legrand.us/radiant/smart-lighting.aspx.
How many bulbs can a dimmer control?
Please see the ratings on the product page specific to your device: https://www.legrand.us/radiant/smart-lighting.aspx. For dimmers, do not exceed 80% of the rated load. For more detailed questions, please contact our technical support at: 877-833-3303 8-8 Eastern M-F, or email at: smartlighting@legrand.us

What is the dimmer setting "Max Trim"?
This is an adjustable setting that sets how bright the bulb can be.  Some customers use this to lower the maximum brightness to save additional electricity.
What is the dimmer setting "Min Trim"?
This is an adjustable setting that sets how low to dim the bulb on the dimmer, which is especially useful for LED bulbs. LED bulbs do not have as broad of a dim range as incandescent bulbs and they can often flicker if they are set too low. Adjusting the low end or Min Trim to just above a bulb's flicker point is the intention of this setting.
What does Fade Rate do in dimmer settings?
Fade Rate is the amount of time the dimmer moves from one setting to the next. For example, if you were going from 100% to off and the fade rate is 2 seconds, it would take 2 seconds for you to see the bulb go from 100% to completely off.
What countries does radiant® Smart support?
radiant® Smart was designed on 120V/60Hz systems of the USA and Canada.
Why do you want to know my location?
Location is required to accurately calculate schedules and scenes associated with sunrise and sunset, as well as lighting in geofenced areas.
What is geofencing and why does it help me?
Geofencing is a term used to describe the virtual fence around a location. For example, in lighting control, you might want to create a rule that says: When I come home, I would like the Outdoor Lights to turn on. This is why lighting apps ask for your location.  Today we handle Geolocation externally from the app using the Samsung ARTIK Cloud.
How much bandwidth does the Wi-Fi system use?
The data size of the commands that are used to send and receive controls on devices is very small- just a few kilobits per message.
Is there a fee to use the App?
No, there are no fees to use the app.
Is there a fee to use the ARTIK Cloud?
No, there are no fees to use the ARTIK Cloud.
I have multiple homes that I want to use radiant® Smart in. Can I use the same login for both homes?
It is not recommended as they will look like they are the same home, but it is technically possible. Determine what setup works best for you.
Are all my settings lost if my phone dies/gets lost/stolen?
No. Your settings are saved locally via your devices and in the cloud. It would be advised to change your ARTIK Cloud password, however. Visit this link to update: https://my.ARTIK.cloud/profile.
If the Internet goes down will my system still work?
Yes, but some features may not be available; such as Alexa or Google voice integration and at launch scheduled scenes.
Do Scenes work with the Google Assistant?
Not right now, but we do anticipate the integration of this feature in the future.
Can radiant® Smart be controlled by more than one smartphone or tablet?
Yes, you can control your system from multiple devices utilizing the Smart Lights App. The system can also be controlled via Alexa and Google voice assistants and the ARTIK cloud: https://my.ARTIK.cloud/.  We anticipate additional controls via future OCF devices as well, such as smart TVs and refrigerators, with OCF apps to control the system.
Can used Smart lighting devices be installed?
It is not recommended unless you know that the devices have been reset and removed from Samsung ARTIK Cloud. Wi-Fi devices use hardware-level security with the ARTIK Cloud and are linked with the original account owner. The original owner must have removed them from their account by deleting them from the Smart Lights App. Due to security measures, only the owner of the device can remove them from the account. Additionally, you would want to be certain that the original installer had properly installed the wiring device and not damaged it in any way.
