When I use a regular light switch, I'm able to power my ceiling fan (one speed only, but still), but get no fan movement when I wire the Radiant 3-way switch as instructed. How is the circuit completed with no white wire connection?

I need to turn on or off a ceiling fan with remote control, don't need speeds. Also I need to be able to dimm a ceiling lamp (Led) and turn it on and off as well. I only have space for one switch. Can this switch work for this purpose?

I want to use this to replace a wall control that came with my A/C motor fan. The fan motor/original switch has four speeds. Is this Legrand switch incompatible since it only has three speeds? Or will it still work safely?
