Does the ENP2050NA Carry any kind of FIRE RATING?

Is there any reason this can't be mounted horizontally? Other than the door flapping down or needing to be propped up?

You would have to create custom attachment points. This enclosure's mounting tabs affix to the face of the stud, not the sides. We would suggest the ENP1705NA as a better solution as it is designed to mount using drywall tabs or mounting to the studs. The door is a two piece snap-in affair that won't have the "flap-down" effect you mention.

How can this be installed into an existing wall? The drywall is installed and studs are not exposed to fasten the tabs.

You will need to cut your box opening and then cut notches in the drywall for the mounting tabs to attach to the face of the studs. The trim ring of the door will cover a reasonable amount of the cutout dimension. You may have to have the drywaller clean up the notched out area.
