Fabricated cable tray fire stop sleeves from Legrand/Cablofil, combined with Firestop products, are an economical alternative to the high cost of fabricating protective fire wall and floor penetration sleeves in the field. This firestop system provides a rigid support for cable tray in a UL classified system approved for fire wall and floor penetrations.

Questions & Answers

Do you need to intall a lintel for this penetration sleeve?

Asked by: tim
This is outside the scope of the cable tray manufacturer and would depend on the wall construction, structure above the wall opening and other factors. I recommend reaching out to the structural engineer or engineering design firm working your project.

Can you remove or not install the flange on the inside and outside of the wall penetration? Is the sleeve one piece of metal for the entire 20" inside to outside? This would be for an application without cable tray.

Asked by: tim
Unfortunately any modification to the fire wall penetration sleeve would cause it to lose its UL classification. One of the flange collars is welded to the sleeve while the other is loose. The sleeve is one 20" long piece. There is also a 20" long cover that sits on top of the sleeve.

What is the difference between the flange being :"out" and the flange being "in"?

Asked by: tim
Steel and stainless ladder trays have a c-shaped side rail. The orientation of the c-shape can be flanges facing inward (flange in) or flanges facing outward (flange out). Cablofil also manufactures an aluminum I-beam side rail. Wall penetrations sleeves are designed to be compatible with any Cablofil side rail configuration.

IS THIS SLEAVE COMPATABLE WITH THE B-LINE CABLE TRAY

Asked by: SKYLINEJEFF
FWPS sleeves are not compatible with B-line tray. However, a universal splice can be purchased which has a blank end. The Bline hole pattern can be field drilled in this area. The part number is 6G2-1335-GE. Two pairs of 1335 splices would be required per FWPS sleeve ordered.
