GFCI receptacles from the radiant® Collection self-test automatically every three seconds to ensure reliable protection from shock due to ground fault occurrences. Meeting National Electrical Code requirements for ground fault protection, GFCI receptacles make it easier to recognize and fix trips right where they happen – no more confusion at the breaker box. 20A outlets are ideal for use with larger appliances, as well as to meet regional requirements (Chicago, Canada). GFCI protection is required by code in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, basements, outdoor areas, and for any other outlets found within six feet of a sink or water source. GFCI outlets should always be used when replacing existing GFCI outlets during renovation. Made exclusively for use with screwless Wall Plates from the radiant® Collection, sold separately. Spec-Grade devices are engineered to meet federal specifications for use in commercial installations.

Questions & Answers

On some other products, Legrand lists the wattage (for example, the 2097TRAPLW has a 2500 wattage rating). What does this mean and what is the wattage rating for this device (2097W)?

Asked by: Bill_20
Thank you for contacting Pass & Seymour Technical Support. A 20Amp circuit will support a maximum of 2500 watts at 125VAC. The GFCI part numbers 2097TRAPLW & 2097W both support 2500 watts at 125VAC.

Can 20A Outlet be used in place of 15A? How do I know which to purchase? Is it safe just to purchase 20A if I dont know which amp I have?

Asked by: Mookie
Hello, Before installing a new device it's recommended to verify your circuit to ensure the device is rated appropriately for the circuit. If you're unsure which circuit you have, it'd be best to stay with a 15A device.

Which cover plate goes with 2097W and 2097TRBK receptacles?

Asked by: Eric W
Hello Eric, the GFCI receptacles use standard decorator wall plates. Therefor you could use a TP26W as a standard option. Alternatively, the RWP26W would also accommodate the devices while offering a screwless look. If you're having trouble selecting a wall plate, please contact us in Technical Support (1-844-957-3783) so we can help you choose the best product for your application.
