Set Home Lighting on a Schedule with the Home + Control App

When you program the lights throughout your home using a smart lighting schedule, you not only customize the ambiance in different areas of your home to your liking, you can also reduce energy costs and enhance security. Using the Home + Control app, it’s easy to schedule lights to turn on or off at specific times and create specific lighting schedules for any day of the week.

Best Ways to Automate Home Lighting

Automating your home lighting is fully dependent on your daily schedule and lifestyle, so you can customize it to precisely suit your needs. A few of our favorite ways to automate the lights in your home include:

Set outdoor lighting to turn on at sunset and turn off at sunrise.
Set interior lights to turn on in the morning as you wake up.
Set all lights to go off once you leave for work and entrance lighting to turn back on upon your return home.
Dim lights as bedtime approaches and turn them off altogether when it's bedtime.

How to Create a Smart Light Schedule in the Home + Control App

Follow these steps to create customized lighting schedules in the Legrand app:

Open the app, select Settings, choose Schedules, select Create an Action Schedule, select the + button.
Choose the time of day you’d like to schedule the action. You can also choose sunrise or sunset – for which times are automatically updated based on your location.
To schedule the lights to turn on at sunset, simply choose Sunset, adjust the start time, then select the days you'd like the schedule to run.
Scroll down and choose the lights you'd like to include in this schedule. Then select the Validate button.

Your lights will now automatically turn on according to the set schedule.

To schedule the lights to turn off at a specified time, select the + button again.
Choose the time of day you'd like the lights to automatically turn off.
Select the days you want to use in this schedule.
Choose the lights you'd like to include in your turn-off schedule.
Press the blue toggle button on the right to set the light to turn off.
Then select the Validate button.

Repeat these steps to program additional actions. With your home lighting on a schedule, you can set it and forget it – knowing your personal lighting choices are automatic.
