Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product Don't pay attention to the other review(s) on here for this product. If you don't know that this has to me mounted to a low voltage ring or electrical box by looking at it, you probably shouldn't be messing around with anything electrical. This is a simple product meant to cover a hole in your wall where you pull wires through. Thats it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean installation Maybe they should stop selling them at Lowe's. These worth great, allowing multiple cables to exit a wall cleanly. They are designed for use with standard United States electrical rings or low voltage brackets. Very obvious to any one with any knowledge. Useful also when I have a two gang ring, a couple can be used and covered with the appropriate plate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Missing pieces! Bought this item sitting alone in the electronics bay at Lowes. Back is covered so attachment to wall is unclear and some attachment could have been included in the packaging. It needs a low voltage ring but that is not clear from looking at it (I appreciate being insulted by other reviewer).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No instructions This thing does not show an example of how to install it.... and it is irrelevant if it is for low voltage or not. You should show how to mount it

Questions & Answers

I bought the cable access wall plate wp1014-la-v1. How does it stay in the wall? Does it need a electric box? I am confused.

Asked by: Big Al
Seeing the WP1014LAV1 is for low voltage wiring it does not require to be mounted into an electrical box, per code. You can use a low voltage ring(AC1010-01) so you can attach it to your wall or sheetrock. https://www.legrand.us/search.aspx?q=ac1010-01
