Torque Specs: Box says to “tighten securely”. Accord to 2017 NEC T-I.2, the torque should be 20in-lbs unless the manufacturer states otherwise. At 18in-lbs, the silver (grounded conductor) screw on 3232TRWCP strips. Defective units, or improper torque?

Asked by: JM123
The required torque for the terminal screws, to include all Legrand/Pass & Seymour Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) Receptacles; and 15, 20, and 30 Amp Switches and Receptacles is 14 to 18 inch pounds.

Are your tamper resistant receptacles functional without the visible shutters?

Asked by: Joe23
I will answer my own question. I found a house where they are installed. My tick tracer was unable to penetrate any single hole of the receptacle. The plug tester went right in and read correct. That leads me to believe this product is functional.
